HEY. Thanks for the "heads up" Nick!
I was only kicking your sack anyway. It's FUN to see guys get fired up about great cigars they are enjoying. That's why we're all HERE, I think. I had a Hoyo De Monterrey Excaliber last night that was quite pleasing. Nothing that I'd ka-splooge all over myself about tho.... I'm trying to figure out what to order for my November cigar selection. I figured maybe some Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Maduros and some Carlos Torano Virtuoso Torpedos. And now maybe some Monte Pascoals.

Its a brazilian puro so it may taste like nothing you have ever tasted before. Not sure if you've smoked anything with brazilian tabacco in it. I know the CAO Vision and CAO Brazilias have Brazilian tabacco in it but I really do love the flavor of Brazilian tobacco.

I love CAO Brazilias.
I think you may have been the one to send me the first one I smoked, no? ![]()

Yep, I checked my bombing post.
You bombed me with a CAO Brazilia. I liked it so much I went out and bought a bunch more. I seem to have caught "Tobacco Acquisition Disorder" (TAD) from you guys.

I smoked the Monte Pascoal that nick gave me. This was a great cigar. I really enjoyed it. I smoked it with a small glass of homemade wine and it really brought out some nice flavors in the cigar. Noticed the nice ash it produced and when I ashed it it the perfect cone ash it left on the cigar.
Thank's again nick, great cigar I may have to get a box. ![]()

Micro-bombing via Acesfull. Thanks for the opportunity.
Monte Pascoal en Tubo (Tubo for shipment only, AF?) I identify this stick as the "Belicoso" (5-1/2 x 52) Wrapper: Brazilian Mata Fina (per AF) Binder: Brazilian Filler: Mata Fina and Mata Norte (per AF) Drink: Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Amber Marzen Presentation: Firm, hefty stick. Feels like it weighs a ton. Solid as a rock. Simple, yet stylish band of red, gold, yellow and blue, stating "Monte Pascoal". Flavor: Starts out nicely with natural, roasted pistachio nuts, bitter black walnuts and nuances of black licorice. Stays nutty and mildly sweet from 100% to 70% where begins a gradual, unfortunate transition to include (now for sure you guys are going to think I'm insane) starchy macaroni noodles, boiled ring bologna and latex house paint. Distinct aroma (?) of boiling macaroni noodles. Weirdly vegetal, produces a foul aftertaste and a stinging sensation along the edges of the tongue and that back of the throat. A real struggle to finish, puffed methodically from 70% to perhaps 25% wherein it met its fate in the butt can. Smokability: There was one piece of loose wrapper that miraculously, did not become an issue. Reasonably even burn, no re-fires or adjustments required. Flawless draw, amazingly, given how densely compacted the cigar appears to be. Foul, fetid aftertaste. Overall: Nick sent me this smoke knowing full well that I would be brutally honest. Suffice it to say that he enjoys these cigars FAR more than I do. A CAO Brazilia equivalent it most definitely is not. I would have to rate this cigar, frankly, a brutal, sadistic D+. (*Scratching "Monte Pascoal" off of the November "cigars to buy list".*)

Yeah I put it in the tube for shipment. Never had the tingly stinging throat/mouth issues with these. Maybe some people are just more sensitive

Maybe I should have humi'd it for a while. I don't know. I doubt very much that it would have made any difference. What I'M having a hard time grasping is how you can adore these so much. Amazing how everybody tastes things differently.

Yeah and I'm starting to get pretty picky about what I like. But the Monte Pascoal's I have smoked, all of them have had a sweet undertone with a cedary/leathery flavor and a little pepper at times.

Got the chance to smoke the Monte Pascoal last night Nick. Excellent stick. When the last car from Wednesday afternoon casual disc golf rolled out I stepped in the house, grabbed a Dogfish 90 Minute IPA and the MP and headed out our drive a couple hundred yards and found a tree stump to sit and enjoy the view, the coming on of darkness, the stick and the beer.
No macaroni and ring bologna on this one for me. Initial draw was just a touch stiff but quickly opened up. As HRP and Nick noted there was initially a little sweet undertone complementing the tobacco/leather taste. My palate doesn't have the ability to distinquish 137 flavors in a given stick, but this is the first cigar I can honestly say I tasted toast, dry toast, very pleasant mixed with the tobacco. That persisted through most of the middle third and was the predominant flavor that stayed in my mind. Burned beautifully and cool throughout. Had a valiant life and then got nubbed. Nice, nice stick Nick. Could easily see it in my regular rotation.
