Monte Pascoal Review

Monte Pascoal Robusto 50 x 4 7/8

Country: Brazil
Wrapper: Mata Fina
Filler: Mata Fina and Mata Norte

Color: Colorado

Construction: Very well constructed cigar, no veins or flaws, perfect draw with a straight cut from a double blade cutter only 1 touchup was needed between the two of these I have smoked

Prelight Aroma and Flavor: Cedar aroma with a leathery/cedary prelight draw

Burn: As noted before a nice even burn, with a semi-dark grey ash that ashed into a perfect cone

Drink: Nothing

Smoking Notes: Started off with a leathery and slightly peppery flavor with a slightly sweet undertone. Went about 1.75" in before I ashed. The ash resulted into the picture I posted above with a nice evenly burnt cone. After I ashed the peppery started to fade and a more prominent cedar flavor kicked in with the leather and semi-sweet undertone staying consistent till the end of the cigar.

Overall Experience: Very good cigar! I enjoyed it and when I can find more I will probably buy a box. I'm sure it will only get better the longer they age. It was a hassel free smoke with full flavor and I'd give it a med-full body experience. I'd give it a solid B+/A very good enjoyable smoke.

I'm not sure what the MSRP on these are as I could not find any information online. Honestly I dont know if they are even released to the public yet. With that being said I want to thank Mata Fina Imports and Kevin and Gary for getting me these smokes.

Oh yeah.. one last comment..

I just feel like i'm smoking a real cigar when it burns perfectly, and it's got a perfect draw.

My local B&M probably wont carry these, but im gonna keep my eyes peeled for this one. I love me some Brazilian wrappers.

Ok.. So I've been smoking the hell out of the Robusto and Belicoso vitolas of these... So I decided to grab one this morning to smoke on the way home from work. I usually avoid coronas due to draw problems and flavor issues.. usually they are not for me at all. But DAMN this is probably my favorite vitola of these now. The flavor immediately kicks in from the moment of the first draw and stays there to the nub. EXCELLENT draw.. ok I digree.. PERFECT draw, NO TOUCHUPS which is usually needed when I am smokin in the car with the windows cracked/down but this one needed no maintenance at all, just light and enjoy, and thats what I did.

Im upgrading my grade of these to an A/A+. The only other cigars I've smoked with this consistancy are high end CAO, Padron and Fuentes. I hope this brand catches fire because I think there is a new brand in the game. I am VERY impressed.

and yes I NUBBED it

I talked to Felipe tonight for about an hour on the phone. They are getting some shipments in and I will keep you guys posted on where to get them once they are in. I hope you all get a chance to get ahold of these. The price on them will be very reasonable. And definately well worth the money. I've smoked about 7 of these and they have been very consistent flavor and construction wise... Stay tuned.....
