Oliva Serie "V" Maduro Review
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro
Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Vitola: 6" x 54 Torpedo Cut: Straight Cut with a Xicar Drink: Bottle of room temperature Dasani Water Comes in a box of 10 MSRP between $7 - $8 per stick ![]() ![]() Appearance: Oily, toothy dark maduro wrapper with a nice a Red, Brown, Creme, and Gold Band similiar to the regular Serie V except it had the writing Maduro Especial Prelight: Wrapper has a sweet earthy scent, draw was simliar to the smell was earthy and sweet Smoking Experience: Started off with a slightly peppery flavor with notes of cinnamon and chocolate with a sweet undertone. About 1/4 of an inch in the pepper fades with the notes of cinnamon remaining with a bitter dark choclate, espresso and chocolate with a finish I can only describe as "fresh" or very weak mint. Just before the halfway point of the cigar the flavor turns to a very strong and chewy milk chocolate flavor with a very sweet finish which lasted until the end of the smoke. Reminds me of when you just put a piece of chocolate in your mouth and just let it melt. At times it still transitions between the minty fresh and chewy chocolatey finish till the end past the halfway point. Overall Experience: I was immediately excited to try one of these as I am a fan of the regular Serie V and was highly recommended by my brother. I had very high expectations for this smoke although the price is cheap in my opinion. The draw was perfect and experienced no construction issues. No touchups were needed and only purged 2-3 times for the duration of the smoke. This stick produced lots of light gray smoke with a nice gray ash. The flavor was strong and had every characteristics I expect from a good maduro. Grade: Solid A in my book. Easily my favorite maduro to date. And yes it was better than any PAM 64 I have smoked. And I LOOOOOOVE PAM 64's but this thing was just... perfect. If you can find one of these grab a few because one wont be enough. They are a limited edition as only 50,000 sticks / 5,000 boxes were released and they prices werent jacked up Fuente style just because it was "limited" ![]() NUBBED |

The few Olivas I've smoked were a little plain to me (a bit on the mild side) but you're review has definately sparked my interested in checking these out - look and sound pretty damn awesome!!

Did some searching for them online and only place I could find them were tobaccolocker.com for $16 per stick. If I can find somewhere that has them for a decent price I'm going to get another box of 10

Wow, great review Nick.
Your ability to post pictures of the stogie greatly enhances the review. I want some.

The one I had was better than any PAM 64. I've only had one but now I have 29. So I'll smoke a few more this week to see how the consistancy is. |
