Carlos Torano Tribute 2008 Review

Size: Robusto
Cut: Punch
Light: Torch
Drink: Diet Dr. Pepper Vanilla/Cherry
Description: A lusciously dark Brazilian Mata Fina leaf graces the premium Nicaraguan long-fillers from Esteli and Jalapa. Dark, toothy and oily, this beautiful cigar glistens in the light. Utilizing ultra-select wrapper leaves that have been triple-fermented for optimum flavor, the Tribute ’08 delivers a medium to full-bodied bouquet of smooth, exquisite, and perfectly balanced flavors.

This cigar is a beauty, beautiful dark oily wrapper, excellent construction, near perfect burn and a superior draw.

The cigar started off a bit rough but smoothed out nicely. The draw is easy and effortless considering the very nice fill. The cigar is firm to the touch. toothy and a joy to behold. The flavours were consistent but lacked complexity. More strength than substance at this point. This cigar looks way better and is kinda of a disappointment since the taste does not live up to the looks, a Mustang with a 4 cylinder engine.

I would give this an overall B rating based on the construction, look, burn and draw. My hope is that the cigar will smooth out over time and become more interesting. I liked it and smoked it to the nub, but complex it is not.
