Hi Guys, I'm glad that so many of you have posted on this thread. I've been a little distant so that others could discuss it without me coming back with comments every time. If you want a form not in PDF to fill in, send me a PM and I'll hook you up. Thanks for all the comments. I could have included chocolate but I cut quite a few flavors. Chocolate is a good example of two things: one is a flavor not on the chart that you should feel free to use, there are lots of flavors that you will percieve that aren't on the chart. It's merely a starter guide to get your mind working on the variety of flavors in cigars. Chocolate is also an example of a common flavor that people mention in cigars, particularly maduros. We see that lots of maduro reviews mention chocolate. When I do a review I mention chocolate but I try to go further and talk about what kind of chocolate flavor I'm picking up. I didn't put chocolate on there in order to push reviewers to notice not only the chocolate flavor but whether it is a milky-milkchocolate or a bitter-grainychocolate or some other variety. So I guess what I'm saying is that it should probably be on there but it isn't because reviewers will mention it anyway and I want to get more detail about the chocolaty taste.

Let me know how your ICRS reviews go.
Sincerely,
Colin

Nice form, kinda funny that "smoke" is listed as a common flavor.

Thanks for this; looks good. For those interested, the latest Dog Watch podcast puts this system to work. Good listening.

Printed out a couple of sheets and used it for the first time tonight in reviewing a smoke. It was very convenient and methodical in regards to the pre-smoke items. Having seen some other review sheets, I believe yours is stronger in that regard. The flavor chart was also very helpful as they even led to other descriptor words that more clearly conveyed what I was tasting. One note of recommendation-perhaps a blank box could be included for gluing or taping on the band? I glued mine to the side of the sheet, just something to consider. Thanks again.

Thumbs up New Form

Greetings CigarLive -

Please have a look at and download the new ICRS form. One of our brothers here on CL has been working with me to make the form prettier and more useful. His name is "Siepattu." He did a great job on the form and I think it is a big improvement. The content is basically the same but with an added space for your labels and a generally cleaner look. Thanks Siepattu!

PS. I'm definitely new at this, but are there cigars that taste like milk and fish? Not a fan of that.
A couple of times while smoking, I have gotten a flavor that reminded me of a good seafood meal. It really surprised me, but I did not find the flavor offensive. It made those particular cigars more interesting to me.

This really is a great tool. I wouldn't do it every time I smoked but I don't think that is really the intention anyways. Me and a buddy sat outside one day and went through the sheet with the cigars we were smoking and we had a great time. Very good stuff

P.S. just for those of you that were curious I had a Padron 300 and he was smoking a RP Vintage 92.
