Smoked my first PAN Principe Review
MY girlfriend took me out for dinner since she finished her winter semester (she has weird semesters) and I decided to get a principe that I bought a month ago and finally smoke it.
It looked absolutely gorgeous, a nearly flawless wrapper, light chocolate brown and smelled incredible. Gave it a quick cut and the prelight draw gave me a hint of things to come. Wow. Just wow. Never tasted anything like this before. Lit it, and gave it a puff. Tons of this new taste flooded my mouth. Herbal? Floral? with a slight spicy finish. A bit rough but quickly disappeared; probably a bad light. The taste was amazingly smooth. Tons of smoke that doesn't really affect my nose. The roughness subsided as the first inch burned down just as a cedar woody taste came in. The ash was a dark grey that held for almost 2 inches. It fell off all over my kitchen floor but I didn't care, this cigar was just great. The tobacco hit harder halfway in but it was just so smooth and creamy. It did get hot and I had to force myself to put it down. Coffee came in 2/3 of the way through as spice mellowed out. My fingers started to feel the heat. I think there were hints of chocolate. By the last inch it sort of lost distingishable tastes, but whatever it was, it tasted good. Last 1/2 inch, I finally let it go. Man, what an experience. I am now eyeing the other principes, wishing them well, because I know they won't last at all.

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
These are great cigars. I frequently do box splits of the 1926 and 1964. Keep an eye out when I do. My guy has got some comming in for me. Not sure what size yet but I do think it will be the PAM this time. RJT

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
The PAN & PAM Principes are my favorites. Don't let the size fool ya; I had several last over an hour. Aesthetically pleasing, and astounding taste.
I'm a fan...

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
It would be the PAM unless it's the 1926 #35 then the nat.

Ditto on the 1926 #35s; one of my favorite smokes. Hard to beat the PAM principe, too.

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
I haven't smoke one of these little guys yet. However, I have been looking for more shorter, smaller ring cigars. With my love of Padron, I have no doubt I would love these.
I have been smoking some Puros Indios Double Maduro Petit Perlas lately. These are really nice little smokes. Thanks for your post. Doc |

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
I love Padron Anny principes! I was gifted one of these about 2 months ago and I have fallen back in love with this cigar. What a wonderful short little treat especially when time gets tight. Yummy!

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
Even though I prefer natural wrapper over maduro for many other smokes, not so with Padron Anni's. I LOVE the richness of the PAM's (and definitely prefer them over PAN's).
I agree with oddball, the principe are actually the size I prefer for most occasions. I easily get an hour out of them, because I take my time to enjoy every puff. Ahhh, just thinking about one makes me By the way, oddball - you the man! Jon sent me 3 principes last week to enjoy. I lit one up about 30 minutes after opening the package, so I've got two left. ![]() |

Re: Smoked my first PAN Principe
Yup the principes are the most overlooked PAM or PAN. Both are extremely tasty.

I've got about 15 of these in my Humi from a box that I picked up and I agree they are wholeheartedly my favorite smokes.
