Olive Serie V figurado Review

Just picked this up from a split thanks to RoosterThomas.
Ceedee asked me to 'tell us how they are',
so thought I'd do a review.

Pre-light
_______

Scent of the wrapper: Wonderful spicy tobacco smell.

Scent at foot: Not much of a foot since it was a figurado, so I got the same tobacco smell.

Appearance: the figurado shape wrapped in a Habano Sun Grown wrapper was beautiful.

Feel: Dense; with a slight spring. I usually smoke the Serie G and O which have a spongier feel and lighter draw, but they really packed the tabacco into this one.

Flavor on draw: It was fun to work the tiny end into a nice burn. First thing I taste is spice, but I will elaborate in the next section.

Smoke
______

Taste: Starts off with a couple of puffs of dry hay that immediately builds into a spicy tobacco taste you only get with ligero. Some afternotes of coffee and chocolate but not really pronounced until a third of the way though..

Flavor Changes:
1/4 inch got a lot spicer
1/3-1/2 coffee and chocolate notes started to pick up
1/2 - nub: the spice coffee and chocolate build up until you are one happy camper; remains smooth and keeps you wanting more.

Strength: This is a powerhouse unlike the Serie G and O; my head was spinning since the first 1/4 of the cigar and the way they are more packed now made it a much longer smoke than I expected. This cigar kicked my ass, but I'm new to cigars so I think the smokers who've been at it for awhile might really enjoy this one.

Feeling: Very relaxing and quite enjoyable.

Scent of smoke: I'm bad at this; the wife always says she smells vanilla or coffee, but I can't smell anything but rich tobacco smoke.

Heat on fingers and mouth: None. Great cigar. I wanted to nub it, but it kicked my butt before I could do so. The long time smokers will really love this cigar.

Draw: Very nice; a little tighter than the other lines, but it's an improvement in my opinion. As a testament to this quality, several times when I thought I needed to ash the cigar - the ash would not fall. The burn was straight; nice deliberate draw that only improves as you smoke more into the cigar.

Finish: Strong spicy finish with light coffee and chocolate aftertones.

Other aspects of this smoking experience: I was really excited and had alot of expectations for this cigar and I was glad it lived up to them. I loved this cigar, no problems at all with it; I really like the immediate flavor changes and how the flavors build up into a real great smoke. Extremely satisfying nicotine-wise. Really want to try the Maduro version now. It reminded me of a Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion, but with a little more flavor and kick. Fantastic cigar. 9/10

Great cigar. If I were to sum up the figurado in one word: sophisticated. It's a smooth and elegant-tasting cigar. I think the Serie V is really going to toss the under $8 cigar market on it's head.
