Bucanero Treasure of Costa Rica Belicoso Review
A true Puro made from the highest quality Costa Rican tobaccos. A rich flavor reminiscent of pre embargo Cubano's.
Wrapper/Filler Binder all Costa Rican. I had never had a Costa Rican puro before this cigar and I have to tell you, the word "PURO" could not be more appropriate. The smell and flavors of this cigar were some of the most luxurious and intense 'tobacco' flavors I have ever experienced. ![]() The wrapper was silken in it's feel. Firmly packed without being hard at all. It clipped perfectly and the pre draw was perfect. Not too loose, not too much resistance. ![]() The burn was perfect and required no touch ups at all. The ash was almost ghostly white, with a couple of flecks of gray. Kept my coal burning evenly the entire cigar. ![]() About an inch and a half in the flavors got even more interesting, hints of spice and leather and cedar became apparent. The cigar produced copious amounts of fine, gray creamy smoke. It also did not at any point get over heated. ![]() The cigar lasted a bit over an hour and at no point did it not hold my attention. The spices got a bit bolder, but, overall impression was a classic aged tobacco flavor with hints of cedar wafting around my head. I eventually took the band off and finished it until my fingers could no longer hold it. It was a stellar performer in all aspects, flawless construction, perfect draw, even slow burn, cool, flavorful smoke and a cigar you just didn't want to put down. The unique flavor of the Costa Rican tobacco was really a welcome change from all the Nicaragua/Honduran and Domican I have been smoking lately. I would heartedly recommend this cigar for those who a)enjoy the craftsmanship of a spectacular smoke and are looking to expand their flavor profile. 9+ |

I second your review. This is a fine cigar. The first one I had was very confusing since it was unlike anything I had smoked before. But once you settle in with it, it's a fantastic, unusual, different smoke. Highly recommened.

Alright - that one just got added to the list. Nice review and sounds like something I've got to pick up (assuming I can find it). Thanks Scott!

Very nice review! Thanks.
![]() BTW, that ash looks beautiful...I love seeing a pure white ash. Just makes the cigar experience even better. ![]()

If you go for the 'fiver', leave room for the El Capitan Maduro and Canon Maduro......both winners in my book.
