Rocky Patel Sun Grown Petite Corona Review

OK. My first review- so here goes. Any suggestions or things I left out let me know.

Country of Origin - Honduras
Wrapper - 7 yr aged Ecuadorian Sun Grown
Filler - 5 yr aged Dominican / Nicaraguan

First impression - I was very pleased with the look of the RP SG. It looked great sitting in my humi with the dark wrapper and the deep red band. Smelled great - almost sweet. The construction was excellent.

The light - Lit like a charm. Toasted it a little and it came right to life.

The smoke - For me, the smoke lived up to the look. It had a "dark" taste. It wasn't harsh, but just a full dark taste. I guess you could say it was a little "earthy". After the puff it was a little peppery in the back of my mouth. Very enjoyable.
The ash was great. Very solid and even.
The burn was excellent. Never had to touch it up and it burned very even.

The end - Smoked it to a nub. A lot of times I'll stop one when the smoke starts to get warm, as I do not like the hot smoke, but this one stayed cool and even when the smoke got warm it was still good, I did not want to have to stop! - I think I will get some of the Robustos for a longer smoke.

I would recommend this to anyone to try. I smoked one with my Dad and he also liked it.

God I love this smoke, This smoke has been top on my list for a few months now ,Im I also a fan of the torpedo and the robusto but the pc is for sure my favorite .

I just finished smoking a toro, and i'm going to add my thoughts as well.

Very nice smoke I thought. Great appearance, oily looking stick.
This is one of the better nc's i've had to date, and perhaps the best sungrown.
Rich flavorful smoke. Tasting notes included sun dried tomatoes, raisons, a "woodsy" like taste, and a little peppery bite.
I love the rich "sweetness" that came with this smoke. Not a sweet like sugar taste however. Great aftertaste on the tongue.

Only complaint is the wrapper split while burning, but i will definitely buy more of those for the flavor alone.

Not bad for your first reveiw,I too have tried these tasty sticks and have enjoyed them too. I also had the good fortune of trying a "Second" from a past offer CI was running. Actually it was a quite good,very tasty.

I buy the bundled "seconds" for the petite corona and really like them as an everyday quick smoke.

I'm a big fan of sungrowns but I have yet to try this stick (I've tried just about every other RP). Thanks for the great review (and you too Rob). I'll have to get on satanbid and pick up a few. (my B&M doesn't carry RP)

I haven't had much luck with the "A" sizes in the RP lineup. Perhaps I will try something a bit smaller like the PC.
