Take notes, never having to experience those (my personal worst top10 list) will save you much suffering.
Haven't had any on that list except a few of the thompsons in a sampler (when I was very new to the hobby); only about 3 of them were any good.
Thx for the tip though.

Re: Dutch East India, Ltd Churchill

JR is selling boxes of Gurkha East India Churchills this week for $70. The ceramic boxes look beautiful. I was thinking about buying it for the box alone.

After reading this thread, I think I'll pass.

Re: Dutch East India, Ltd Churchill

I am _not_ recommending a purchase because I haven't tried the ones JRs is offering, but I am almost certain they are different from the old CI East Indias. The Connecticut wrapper version must be different since the old East India had a Brazilian wrapper.

I do have some aged old ones and the taste is decent. The main problem is that the wrapper is very frail and the label has to be kept on the cigar or it may fall apart.

Of course the old ones could be obtained at the Devil Site for a buck a stick and JR's "sale" is at a lot more than that.

Uh Craig, good call. Since this thread was first written, I got my order in, had a few, and they didnt get any better. In fact, they were downright awful

I may have a few left way down in the darkest corner of a makeshift coolerdor. I havent looked at em in over a year. Besides, you can't smoke the box, and that would be the only good thing about the purchase.
