CAO Mx2 Toro Review

This is my first review here, so bear with me. I smoked one of these for the first time last night after letting it sit in my humidor for about a month. I've heard mixed reviews about them and wanted to see for myself what they were all about.

First off, it was a very nice looking cigar. It had a nice dark and slightly oily wrapper. Once I fired it up and started smoking, I found that it was a little milder then I expected it to be. Initially I was impressed. It had a good draw, nice flavor, and good after taste.

However, when I got about a third of the way down, things started to go horribly wrong for me. It started to burn unevenly, with one side eventually burning about half an inch lower then the other. It also started to get pretty bitter tasting. Nothing I tried fixed either of these problems and eventualy I just had to give it up.

I was pretty disappointed, but I think I'll try one again in a different size sometime. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similiar problem or if I just got a bad one?

Hey Maxx sorry to hear the CAOX2 didn't work out like you had hoped. I've had a couple and have never expereince any problems with them. I'd give it another try in a month or so.

Re: CAO Mx2 Toro

One of my favorite cigars, but never had the toro. I've had the robusto and the belicoso (the best IMO). The beli burned straight as a arrow. Didn't have a problem with the robusto either. As far as the taste, I wouldn't describe them as bitter, but "stronger" during the second half. The beli became my favorite since it did seem somewhat smoother and milder but had plenty of body to keep me interested. I compare them to the Partagas Black.

Give the beli a try, I think you'll change your mind. Plan for a longer smoke though - 7" X 56.

I tried purging it, but that didn't seem to help any. I'll have to give the belicoso a try sometime. I really enjoy the CAO Brazilia line, so I'm going to give the Mx2 another go.

Re: CAO Mx2 Toro

I've never had a problem with the MX2, they are one of my favorites. It might have been that one, so I would suggest trying another as well. Try a Partagas Black Label as well.

Re: CAO Mx2 Toro

Rather than post a new thread I thought Id just revive this one.
Had the Mx2 Toro today and enjoyed every minute of it , nice construction, nice ash, nice flavor. the only thing was the draww was just a wee bit tighter than what I like other than that it was great. I will definatly be trying more of these.
