Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill Review
Country: Factory in Miami, U.S.A.
Length: 7 Ring: 50 Filler: Cuban Criollo & Corojo (grown in Nicaragua) Wrapper: Cuban Corojo Seed (grown in Nicaragua) All I can say about this Cigar is that it is near perfect. Without a doubt the most enjoyable smoke I have had in some time (includes the Padron Anniv's). Made in the same factory as the highly touted Tatuaje line of cigars, but I fine this to be a more complex and full-bodied. I usually have difficulties picking out specific flavors when smoking a cigar but with this tasty cigar there are obvious hints of chocolate & a toffee like flavor along with the typical spice notes you find in a high quality full-bodied smoke. These cigars can be a little bit hard to find outside of S. Florida, but if you can I highly suggest you pick one up. |

OH I agree completely, I love the Tats, but the Padilla Churchill is such a great smoke, I had one lastnite in fact. It is so rich and full of flavor and it has the most beautiful burn.

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
sounds good, I got a robusto from seriouscigars.com for $11, can't wait to try it. Just had a Cabaiguan, also made by Pepin and it was great.

I had an Padilla Robusto a while back and I must say what a fantastic cigar. The Padilla Rob. was thick, rich and very full bodied. The flavor was wonderful! Guys this is one of those sticks that is worth the $$$.

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
Just had one of these and it has got to be one of the top 3 non Cubans I have ever had. Fantastic cigar! Local shop had them for under $10.

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
The only Padilla I've ever tried has been the Cedro. Which was a mild, smooth cigar. Not bad at all, but not something I'd rave about.
Has anyone smoked both the Cedro and the Miami 8&11? How do they compare (flavor, construction, etc.)? My guess is the Cedro is lower-end of the line. Thanks! |

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
I agree. i love these. I bought a box of the robusto's, and theyre fantastic, but i had a churchill the other day at the shop, and i really think theyre better.
Luckily cigar king in Chicago always has the boutique brands fully stocked. These and the Tatuaje's are like crack! i swear if you take the labels off, you'd swear theyre cuban.

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
I was over at my local BBM several days ago, and the salesman practically pushed this one into my mouth. It is a Corona and he says it is very fullbodied and complex, so I bought one but, haven't smoked it yet. The cost is a bit much though.... about 7.50 a stick. The guy said out of several new boxes, he has half a box left, and they are selling out fast.

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
I bought a box of the 8&11 robustos last December. This was in the vaguely lopped off pyramid shaped box. Best non-ISOM I've had, simply outstanding.
Bought another box from the same vendor. Came in a flat corona box, the sticks got bounced around & took some nicks in the feet. Smoked one out of that box - completely different cigar (and not nearly as good). I'm hoping that the sticks will settle down, that maybe they just need some rest, but I'm fearing the worst (i.e., ramping up production because of the good reviews and the quality is going down). Anyway, for the time being I'm saying caveat emptor. Damn. |

This is on my "really want to try" list, but I hope to heck the sticks I get are as good as the ones that produced the rave reviews.

Re: Padilla Miami 8&11 Churchill
Well I smoked the 8&11 Corona I bought several days ago and man! It was strong! I didn't mind it but, it began strong and didn't ever back off at all, throughout the smoke. This is one of those smokes that I wouldn't smoke all the time, and I prefer a little variety. This stick comes out fighting and doesn't stop until you put it out. It was strong but, not harsh. Lots of pepper and spice throughout. Down to the last 2 inches it got kind of hot but again, not harsh. The last third of it all flavors were turned up a coupla notches. Fullbodied and then some.
