Cesta-Rey CentroFino Sun Grown #60 Review

6"X50guage Toro
I received this cigar from Mike @ Holy Smokes as a freebee back in October. It has been in the testerdor for over 6 months.

Prelight: This sungrown wrapped cigar is somewhat splotchy but light in color with some minor veins, and what looks like a ridge from a stem near the head of the smoke. Other than that, a nice looking smoke with a well built triple cap. Smoke has an easy prelight draw.

Light: Spicy on the tongue, with a creamy, hearty smoke. Smoke is thick and creamy, while leaving some spice on the tongue. After the first inch, the spice started to mellow out a bit, while remaining creamy. Some notes of nuts and leather. After the second inch, I started to get some creamy coffee notes, but they were very far in the background. Even some notes of green grass (?). After the ash fell, I noticed a couple of splits near the ember. They were small. The spice started to come back, like a black pepper in the back of my mouth and on the tongue. Not harsh, not mild bodied at all. During the finish, the flavors began to get stronger.

This was a decent smoke. Never any burn issues and the draw was easy the whole way through. Cigar kept me interested enough.

The only issue I really had was the after taste. It let you know you were smoking a peppery smoke, and a couple of times, the after taste was overpowering, like I licked the ashtray.

I would smoke another, and have one more that I am going to rest a little while longer. However, I don't see myself buying any of these (not that I bought the ones I have).

I give this a 7 out of 10.
