Exile Perfection #2 Rosado by Cuban Imports Review

as promised, here is my review for the Exile Perfection #2 as voted on by the members of CL. i will be reviewing the Padilla Series '68 tomorrow night and posting the new poll for next weeks reviews.

The Exile Perfection #2 is made by Cuban Imports. The one i am smoking is the Ecuadorian Sun-grown Sumatra Rosado wrapper. This is made in Nicaragua. It is a 7x49 figurado. It is supposed to be a mild, flavorful smoke, but we shall see.

Pre-light:

Construction: body is about perfect. no major blemishes or flaws. has a little flaw on wrapper right where its supposed to be lit. not hard or spongy. reddish brown wrapper
Smell: hints of spice, mostly earthy
Draw: tight. very
Taste on foot:spice.

Post-light:

Smoke: not much. lacks smoke body.
Draw: hard to gauge from lack of smoke, but not tight like it first seemed
Burn: nothing to be worried about. not purely even, but not annoying
Ash: beautiful gray/silver, but weak. didn;t stay on, fell off at the slightest touch.
Taste:
1/3: intially tastes like flowers. was surprising from the pre-light tastes. tastes like a rose (hookah smoking helped me nail the profiles). Definately a rose/jade flavor
2/3: flower taste persists. creamy as well
final 3rd: harsh. flavor

afterthoughts: pre-light was near perfect besides the small defect on the end. flavor was great initially. the flowery/rose/jade flavors were unexpected from the pre-draw and smell, but welcomed. Ash was weak, burn was good, draw was bizarre, it wasn;t loose or tight, but didn;t feel natural. flavor didn;t change much and got harsh at the end. was very mild,

lost points for:
Construction: -1 for the small blemish at the end of the cigar
SC: -3 for weak ash and weird draw
Flavor: -2 for not changing. the flavor got old by the last third, and harsh
Overall Impression: -2 for reasons above

This cigar gets a 32/40 from me. thats about an 80-82 on a 100 point scale
