Tony Borhani's Bahia Blu Toro
Tonight brings us a new installment of TC's review! :eeek:
Tonight was a Bahia Blu 600 that I received in my first PIF on this board from JLDude12345 back in February. Thank you for the smoke! Tony Borhani's Bahia Blu 600 6"X50 Toro In humidor for almost 3 months Prelight: Cigar has a dark natural wrap from Nicaragua and is billed as a full body cigar. Veins of the wrapper looked lighter than the wrap itself giving it an almost hi-lighted look. Couldn't tell if the cap was a triple or double cap. Veins were not prominent at all, but at the same time, the cigar wasn't exactly smooth. Wrap looks almost splotchy if you look at it close enough, but nothing to make the appearance bad. Besides what looked to me like a thumb print in a spot of pectin on the wrapper, the cigar was fairly unremarkable in the looks category. Smoke had a medium prelight draw. Light: This cigar was the first that I used a notch cutter on. Toasting the foot released a nutty smell, and upon lighting, the first noted I caught were very cedary/toasty. Cigar has a nice mild flavor, with a small hint of grass (?). On the first inch, cigar is very mild, and it takes a few puffs to get smoke. No real lingering flavor at all. Once smoke has left the mouth, its like there was nothing there at all. After the first inch, I noticed my tongue was getting numb. I started to get some more flavor; espresso, little pepper here and there, and the flavor stays on the palate a little longer. There is soe sort of nutty taste that sticks around (cashews perhaps?). At the finish, the cigar is noticeably stranger, with the smoke becoming a bit ore peppery, while keeping the nutty aftertaste. Smoke is more hearty, creamy and spicy at the same time. Finish got harsh after a few puffs. A decent smoke, but not what I would consider full bodied. Definitely a cigar for people who like mild cigars, but are starting to get into something a little stronger. Not something that I personally would by large quantities of, but an OK smoke all the same. My rating: 8.1. The thumb print killed the presentation for me. Like the roller didn't care about the appearance of the cigar. Smoke was thin and not very forthcoming until the end. Burn was excellent, ash was very light gray. Finish got harsh after about 4 draws into it. This was # 94 in my book. Thank you, and stay tuned for the next one! |

I would probably go another way. That's me though. Someone else may find it tastes completely different. This is a great mild cigar at a good price point (I saw boxes of robusto size for under $80 online), it just didn't "tickle my fancy" if you get my meaning. Would I smoke another? Sure. Would I go out of my way to pick up more? Probably not.
