Top Shelf Signature Select Corojo Review

Here's a little background for this cigar from Top Shelf Cigars:

Manufacturer: Fernandez y Fernandez

"This is a 100% Corojo cigar made with first generation Cuban seed tobacco. Wrapper, binder and all filler leaves are Corojo. The tobaccos are sourced from the Jalapa,Condega and Esteli regions of Nicaragua. This is an explosively flavorful cigar with a complex blend featuring a strong roasted nut component, along with plenty of spicy note, and some serious "twang". The finish is long and creamy and the aroma is robust and alluring to the serious cigar smoker."

I don't think I've ever read an ad copy that so closely describes my exact smoking experience. Have to say if I could only have these the rest of my life I'd be delighted. Jim Cronin has hit this one outta the park!

I tried both the Cuban Corona (5.62 X 46) and the Toro Extra (6 X 52) and I must say the toro size was the best. The wrapper was a dark reddish brown color with a satin feel. The stick is heavy in the hand and firm. Construction appears flawless.Pre-light draw/aroma is a mild barnyard and earth with a little tingle to the tongue. Once lit the aroma is near intoxicating with mellow, rich corojo flavors. There is absolutly no harshness to the palate. The smoke is creamy and coats the mouth with a pleasing richness that continues throughout the entire experience. I am not one to pick the individual flavors as some here can do but I can say that there is a complexity to this stick that I really enjoyed. I must say that prior to smoking I had some preconceived notions that this may be a cigar that would be too strong for me. I find now that this is not so. I would describe the strength and flavor as medium/full and not to be feared but rather respected.
All in all, I see this one as being a welcomed addition to my humidor.

Excellent review. One thing I would like reviewers to do is add a place to get the cigars (when available provide a link)

I just finished one of these (Cuban Corona) and I have to agree with your review. I really enjoyed it. I still have the Toro Extra in the humidor.

These are Jim Cronin's house brand at Top Shelf Cigars in Skippack, PA.
You would need to give him a call and have them shipped from his store (something he does fairly regularly as I understand). I'm not aware of any place online to order them from.

Top Shelf Cigars (Phone number listed on the site)
