Perdomo Habano Maduro review
I bought this cigar at a local shop which has treated me well and keeps their cigars in a well kept humidor- and since it's not frequently visited I get the impression that there isn't much shock to the cigar environment from a day to day basis.
Any how....... Here goes. The cigar, as will be said by pretty much every review you will read, catches your eye. Nice dark brown wrapper with a light oily sheen and a modest ring on which the Perdomo logo sits as if to say "yeah, you know I'll be good". On the foot another ring which has my favorite word on it "Maduro". I suppose I should also mention that this was the toro size. The construction was what you would expect from a fine brand such as Perdomo, no prominent veins, smooth and oily with a firm recoil when pressed between my fingers. It smelled very good out of the cello- leather and wood. I usually always cut the end (meaning no punching or V cut) and did so on this occasion as well. The draw was firm, but not so much that I had to work to get smoke from it. Toasted the foot and off we go, flavor off the bat was the same as it was at the end. I found a hint of rich chocolate flavor in the background with a predominant earthy/wood flavor. The most striking part of the flavor was the creamy creamy-ness that stole the show. If creamy has a taste it's Perdomo Habano Maduro. Not a strong flavor throughout though, I was expecting a blast of flavor by its look but was slightly disappointed that I didn't get it. I'm not bashing it, my expectations were just different than what I got. The burn was not notable in any way, touched it up once but don't have anything else to say about it. What I got from this was an excellent cigar and would recommend it for an evening smoke accompanied by a creamy drink (I know, enough with the creamy right?). I think that if you want a Perdomo Maduro though I might suggest you try the more chocolaty Lot 23.

Re: Perdomo Habano Maduro review
I tried one last night (torpedo) and was severely underwhelmed.
I got nothing but harsh spiciness the whole way through. No sweet maduroness, no nuance...all in all a disappointing smoke. I think I'll steer clear of Perdomo for quite a while... |

Re: Perdomo Habano Maduro review
Thanks for the review. I love the Habano Corojo line and have some Maduros resting, I need to burn one soon. The Lot 23 I smoked seemed too earthy for my taste but may have to try a maduro.

Re: Perdomo Habano Maduro review
I just smoked the robusto version that I bot from Cbid a week ago:
Well-made with an easy/firm draw, but formed a canoe for most of the way. Solid medium body with lots of smoke. Starts off with a sharp pepper blast which quickly fades into a smoother flavor--subtle hints of cedar and choco. Good value at $3, but I would not pay more for it. |

Mine, too and I've tried 13 different Perdomo cigars. I have 5 of these in my humi right now.

Re: Perdomo Habano Maduro review
dang! don't rub it in! I just lost one at the park at lunch. I had it in my 2-finger leather cigar case, it must have fallen out of my pocket. Oh well, some lucky bum has a fine smoke ahead of him.
