My maiden review - The Griffin's Piramides Maduro
Just had a new granddaughter and wanted to smoke something special to celebrate her birth. I had been eyeing the Griffin’s Piramides Maduro that has been tempting me from my humi for the past few weeks and decided that was the one for me. Had not had a Griffin’s in quite a long time and had never had one in Maduro.
I think it is an especially good looking stick with the classy white band setting off the dark brown cigar. There were some veins running through the wrapper but was still nice looking. Pre-light flavor and aroma were good. I smoked it slowly, taking nearly two hours to finish and was rewarded with a rich, smooth and mellow flavor. There was just the right amount of smoke and the draw was right on but the burn left something to be desired. I had to touch it up a couple of times as well as relight twice. Maybe I was smoking it too slow.:s Bottom line for me was a very enjoyable smoke with the positives of the flavor outweighing the less than perfect burn. I will definitely keep a few in the humi.

Congratulations Gramps!
Great review. Thanks. I have had more then my share of great cigars with burn problems. For some reason, I think every Bolivar ISOM I have ever smoked had burn problems. To my way of thinking that's really not a big deal. I would much rather smoke an awesome cigar with burn problems then a shitty cigar that burns perfectly. |
