Rocky Patel Fumas Review
I had purchased these last week from Cbid and someone asked me how they were. I had never had them and said I'd let them know once I'd given one a try - Hence this thread.
Rocky Patel Fumas Purchased on Cbid for $7 for five. Filler Nicaragua / Honduras / DomRep Wrapper Maduro - not sure I believe this 6x44 It has a fairly strong smell before lighting - a pleasant fall rotting leaf smell. The taste is a little sweet - basic tobacco with a little weak coffee almost consistently all the way through. At the very end it picks up a little spice. For the money it was okay - it's not complex but at $1.40 a cigar it's not unpleasant either. The construction was fine and there were no burn issues. I'm not sure if I believe the wrapper is maduro. When the cigar burned the wrapper stayed the same odd color - odd now because it had burned, while the ash inside was gray. It really did look strange - more like paper than leaf. The ash did hold it's form fairly well. It was a little weak in taste for me, so I doubt I'll be getting any more, but if one's a fan of mild cigars it might suit well enough for an inexpensive stick. |

I picked up a 5'er of these as well for $7. I am letting them rest a bit before trying them.

Re: Rocky Patel Fumas
Bought two boxes last year when they first came out ....for way cheap. Was NOT impressed. Let them rest for the past several months and they are certainly BETTER. Mild...not very complex...but for a buck a stick great yard gars.

Re: Rocky Patel Fumas
Thanks for the review! Does not seem bad for the cheap price.

Re: Rocky Patel Fumas
I think they are a nice morning coffee smoke. I have had burn issues with them, so if I'm planning a Sunday morning read the paper, coffee and smoke I try to give them a few days in a dry box.
Good write up! Thanks, Vinnie |

Re: Rocky Patel Fumas
Squid® has never had one of these... RP puts out so many cigars I gave up trying them all a year or two ago.

Re: Rocky Patel Fumas
I found RP’s Fumas to be a disappointment. I let mine rest for 3 months before smoking and I found them to be very harsh. I am also never a fan of a dyed wrapper.

Re: Rocky Patel Fumas Review
I found them to be fairly strong. But won't buy them again.
Firm draw, yucky salty brown dye on wrapper…needs a pre-wipe. Full body, some nic kick. |
