Padron 2000 Review

After all of the hype about this smoke, it really didn't live up to it's promise. The construction was very good and the pre-light draw tantalizing. The light was easy and even and the burn was very good, requiring one small touch up. The taste? The taste was mild and bland, tobacco mostly, nothing special. The entire cigar from start to finish was exactly the same so I'll give it good marks on consistency. I thought it might have been my palate that night but when I smoked an RyJ Maduro later, I got the normal full gamut of flavors. It was an OK smoke but most certainly NOT worth it's $15.00 tag. I've got better $2 sticks in my humidor...

re: Padron 2000 Review

Personally, I have never been a fan of the 2000's. I like the 3000's and the 4000's the most. I feel there is a lot more flavor there.

I'll smoke either of those two down to the point where I need a roach clip or something. lol.

re: Padron 2000 Review

Hmm... I couldn't disagree more, though I generally smoke the 4000's as they're my favorites.

Padron's have some of the best construction and draw I've ever come across. I've not yet ever had a single one that had a bad wrapper or less than perfect draw. I've had every one of the x000 line as well as the 1926's and 64's.

Personally, I think their taste is unique. To me they taste different than every other cigar. I looove their taste! I'd suggest giving one more a shot someday. Try a different size as it might change your opinion. But if it doesn't, well that's fine then... they just might not be the cigar for you!

I have never seen a Padron 2000 for $15.They are around $4.50 at my local. You can pick up a box of 24 for around $80. I like them with at least 8 months to a years age on them.

re: Padron 2000 Review

Yeah, 15$ seems awfully steep. But in terms of flavor, my experience has been the same. I have tried a couple different Padron -000's and have found the flavors to be a little bland. Strong, but not enticing to my palate. I respect those whose experience and opinion differs though. I admit, I am curious as to what they may be tasting...

I enjoy the Padron 5000, along with the '64. They are very well made cigars with a resonable price tag. You definately get your moneys worth with a Padron.

+1, the 5000 has been my "go to" smoke ever since I first tried a 4000 series maduro, and smoked it till I had to use my fingernails to hold it!

Padrons are a good cigar but my tastes run more towards the 4000 and 5000,,,sorry that you had to pay that much for the 4000,,,that just doesn't seem right.

The Padron 2000 is one of my favorite go to cigars, but I dont think 15.00 is right, are you sure about that price, this is usually about a 3-4 dollar cigar.

I love the Padron X000, the 2000 is a great smoke when you don't have a lot of time. Well constructed and awesome with some age IMO. I would give this another shot down the road.

re: Padron 2000 Review

Didn't realize when I posted earlier that he said he paid $15.00 for a 2000! That's downright sodomy! At $83 a box that's $3.19 a piece. Generally, in the places I go that have these they're no more than $6 a piece singly.

But yeah, I definitely suggest trying the 4000. If you can, have it with a mildy sweet beverage. I generally drink german hefeweizen's, belgian beers, etc with my cigars. Though, I've personally found the Japanese beer Asahi to be the perfect beer with my Padron 4000's. Something about them together is amazing.

I've had the 2000's and they were good, but the 4000 was much better to me. The blends are supposed to be exactly the same with all the x000 lines but the size does seem to make a difference.

I smoke the Padron 2KN's but they can be kind of hit or miss. They are almost always good, but occasionally there is a phenomenal one! Age (a couple months) immensely helps the 2KN. My experience is that the Padron 3KN is consistently excellent. In fact, it may be the best cigar readily available in it's price range! The 4KN's are very, very good as well...

I like both the 2000's and 3000's. I've also had good luck with the 6000's.
