5 Vegas Cask-Strength II Toro Review

Sorry guys, no pictures this time! I'd like to say this cigar was my first 5 Vegas and I was very impressed with the 5 Vegas Cask-Strength II. I have heard nothing but good things about the 5 Vegas brand and I can see why.

This toro beauty is measured at 6.0" with a ring gauge of 52. It had a nice square box pressed shape to it that fit snug in my fingers. A smooth Corojo wrapper that made my mouth water while I was cutting it. The prelight draw was open and very smooth.

Upon lighting, I got a blast of spicy pepperness that went away after the first puff. The thick and heavy smoke I got from this thing was smooth. I was actually able to blow smoke rings with it! The first third of the cigar was mild with some hints of earthiness to me. I started to believe I made an excellent choice going with the Cask-Strength II this morning.

The middle of the cigar started to get a little complex for my taste, I could not specify any distinct flavors. But its was delicious. By this time I had a good ash going until I sneezed when the ash fell off. Surprisingly, the cigar didn't heat up at all and it stayed cool and smooth.

The last 3rd of the cigar was quite possibly my favorite. The rich and spicy flavors I tasted at first came back with a little of the complex tastes from the middle part that balanced perfectly together.

Overall, I highly...highly recommend trying this cigar. This is an excellent medium flavored morning/early afternoon smoke. I'm sure with some age in the humidor would make it more enjoyable than it already was. I'm officially a 5 Vegas fan and believer now! I'd give it an 8.8 out of 10.

Jack Straw, if you have one ready to smoke, I would act now, I am smoking this cigar right now and its amazing. Each time I expel the draw, it leaves a great taste to linger. I also noticed the smoke has a magnificent smell. In my opinion this cigar has hints of vanilla and yes, this is very smooth. I have 3 more of these and I will cherish each and every one of them.

I've been with this company for 4 years now. They talked to us about the economy last week, a few of us suggested dropping the 2 floor office space in downtown boston and let us work from home everyday, thatll save us some money!!!

Basically, one of my goals in life is to find something where I can work from home in the morning, and take the afternoon off. I don't get anything done in the afternoon anyway.

I've been wanting to try one of these. The other 5 vegas sticks I've had before have been pretty good. CI has some good deals on fivers of these, I'll have to pick some up.

Hmm. On CI, looks like they are sold out of fivers, and they don't show up on the brand list. Famous doesn't seem to carry 5 Vegas at all... guess it was a smaller production run?

I thought I read somewhere on this forum that CI is the only place that sells 5 Vegas online? I'm not for sure. But they are great cigars for great prices! Hopefully I can get some money saved up to get some more of these before April 1st!

There are a few others, but all affiliated with CI, they own the brand.

re: 5 Vegas Cask-Strength II Toro Review

I thought this cigar was good. I have heard mixed reviews about it. I didnt think it had alot of spice but a little. It had a smooth draw and smoked well.

I would smoke it again, maybe with alot more age on it. Mine had a few months

Re: 5 Vegas Cask-Strength II Toro Review

I smoked one just now, and the only thing I have to add is that this cigar, after the spice wears off after 3/4" or so, tastes like wood, very oakey, like...a cask! Very smooth cigar, with a lot of smoke. Not sure I'd want to smoke these all the time, but it was good. Probably would go well with some oakey scotch or bourbon.
