Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria Review
Well, I was finally able to get my hands on one of these, and decided to light it up yesterday. Got it from a really reputable shop, with a well monitored humidor and good cigars, then kept it in my coolidor (67%, 68 deg) for a few days. Great pre-light aroma and flawless construction. A generally appealling looking cigar. Attractive wrapper and bands. Clipped the cap with a double guillotine, and lit it with Colibri retro lighter.
First 1/3- Great draw and wonderful flavor. Had a sweet nutty, woody flavor, and I detected some cocoa notes. No bad flavors, or finish. Burn was decent at first, but then about an inch into it, it straightened itself out perfect. Second 2/3- Flavors really kicked in. Full-bodied, Full flavored. A little past half-way, a slight tar/resin flavor picked up. Not bad at first, but as cigar made its way down to the last 1/3, really noticeable. Last 1/3- Good flavors still, but noticeable tar/resin taste. I checked the head of the cigar and no tar build up was present. Also, I wasn't smoking this thing to fast and causing it to be excessively hot. This lead me to think that the cigar needed some time aging. The flavor wasn't horrible by any means, so I continued to smoke it down and towards the last inch or two, the flavor passed. Overall- 8 out of 10. Great cigar. I wouldn't agree with the CA's 94, but what do they know anyway. This is a good smoke with great flavor. Make sure and have the time to smoke this, cause it takes awhile. Cost was around $9-10, so a little on the pricey side, but worth a try. If the price was a little cheaper, I would definately go back and get a box. Might have to go pick a few up and let them sit for awhile in the coolidor. Then try it out. |

re: Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria Review
I've only smoke a couple of these, but I loved them. I don't remember any bitterness in the ones I smoked, but who knows, this may be due to aging, or just personal taste. I was really impressed by the richness and balance of the flavors. Hmm, wishing I had another in my humi, but alas...

Nice review! I enjoy the Tempus, but can be a little pricey at times! Thanks for sharing!

re: Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria Review
Thanks for the great review. I bought a few of these right when the CA rating came and and remember being underwhelmed. I'll have to give it another try.
