Arturo Fuente Hemingway short story review

Man is this good! Only lasted about 25-30 mins though but this thing had great flavor. Maybe I smoked it too fast but it never got hot until I began to nub it. It did have a few spots on the wrapper, see the first photo. A light toasted flavor (think light nuts+wood+tobacco) lasted throughout the cigar. I found this medium in body which is a good thing because it really let that "toasted" flavor shine through. Simple flavor but VERY well done, this would be great following a nice steak and wine dinner. Very little to no spice/bite and there was no bitterness in this cigar, even at the end. Burn was a little uneven but corrected itself in the final 2 inches. I need to try this in a larger size so it can last longer. Do you guys find that the larger Hemingways have simlar flavor? If they do I am definitely picking up a box.

Cheers,
David

Re: Arturo Fuente Hemingway short story review

Very nice review. Thanks for the pics. I was just trying to decide which cigar to have tonight. I think you made my decision! I've had a box of Classics (7x4 in the humidor for a couple years but have not had one in a while.

The flavor profile you give sounds a lot like the ones I've had. These cigars are well worth the price in any length.

Re: Arturo Fuente Hemingway short story review

I love the SS. It's one of the smokes I have when I feel like I've earned a special treat. I wish there was a size between the SS and the Signature, and I wish they were a little cheaper, but that's just how I am. Still in a perfecto shape, but more of a 5.5x44 corona-ish size. Yeah, a box of 30 for $120, or so. For me, that would be ideal. I would be all over that.

Re: Arturo Fuente Hemingway short story review

The AF Hemingway is, to me, the benchmark for the Cameroon flavor profile: slightly-sweet cedar, nuts, rich tobacco. I've loved every one I've had, but have yet to try the more exotic shapes like the Work of Art. I have also not had one in a maduro wrapper, though I know a lot of people swear by those.

This is a good little cigar I noticed the flavor was a bit mild but still an enjoyable cigar.
