SIGLO Limited Reserve Review

Another cigar I stumbled upon today while browsing the aisles at a local B&M.... The new SIGLO Limited Reserve by Altidas

Altadis U.S.A. announces the introduction of Siglo Limited Reserve, an exceptional Nicaraguan Cigar, handcrafted under the guidance of celebrated master blender Frank Llaneza. Aficianados and the trade alike are eagerly looking forward to the arrival of this cigar, characterized by it's extraordinary character and rich, fuller body.

Siglo Limited Reserve's bold flavor is derived from the finest Broadleaf binder and hand-selected Dominican and Nicaraguan long filler tobaccos, highlighted by a robust Ecuadorian Cubano wrapper.

Size: 6 X 54 (VI)
Shape: Toro
Draw: Perfect
Burn: Good
Construction: Good

This is surprisingly a great cigar. After removing the cellphone, I took a whiff. It smelled like good 'ole raw tobacco at its best.

As much money as Altidas has, they could have done a better job on the band design. It looks like some teenage kid made it in their basement. It was also off center. Of course, you can't smoke the band, can you? Even though I've heard of people on here who have!

Overall, it's a very good cigar.

Starts out medium and builds to full. Some spiciness is there, but like I said, it's just straight up raw tobacco. Not green, but just good 'ole cured/aged leaf.

I think this is one of the best cigars Altidas has produced in years.

I don't care about it either. I was just making reference to the fact that it's an ugly band created by a company that has an a$$-load of $$$$.

Because it's a knock-off Cohiba, haha. It's even called "Siglo"

But thanks for the review - I'm willing to try it since it at least gets good reviews.

Re: SIGLO Limited Reserve

The band looks a lot less like a Cohiba band than I was expecting.

Re: SIGLO Limited Reserve

Funny timing...I live in Orlando and stop by Corona's downtown store ('world's biggest cigar store') 3-4x per week and they just placed out their yellow SIGLO boxes today in a 6 foot area on their shelves...they must be expecting some good sales of it.

Re: SIGLO Limited Reserve

The band looks cheesy because they're doing their best to knock-off Cohiba yet again. Damn shame....all the great NC cigars out there and the reputation that has been painstakingly built for quality NCs, and big cigar companies still put most of their stock in associating their sticks with Cuban brands.
