Torano 1916 Review

Torano 1916 Camaroon Corona
5.5x42
Filler - Nicaraguan / Honduran
$2.20

I have always liked these but haven't smoked any in a long while. This one had a week in my coolerdor after arriving from The Devil Site. In the picture you can see a small blemish near the cap. Other than that blemish the cigar functioned well - burned straight and held its ash well. The taste was to my personal liking. It started off with toasty leathery flavor with an earthy mushroom quality. In the second and third part it became coffee like, with the coffee growing to a more espresso favor. In the end there was a quality that I taste fairly frequently, but I can only describe as organic. Umami, maybe? I don't know, but I like it.

This remains a favorite of mine, for a medium bodied cigar.
The lighter is in the photos fore size reference.

Thanks!

I got a pretty good price on a fiver from Cbid, but they're on sale right now over at CI for &68 something for a box of 25. That's around $2.75 each.

Re: Torano 1916 Review

Thanks for the review. I like these as well. I polished off a box of coronas in a month or so about a year ago. I think the flavor you're describing is dirt! I taste this too in these cigars. I think the Robusto size has the most of the flavor and the corona the least. I think the corona size lets the cameroon flavor come out strong. Enjoy them!

I will! I bid on the robustos as well, but had no luck. When cash allows I'm going to pick some of the robustos up.

Good review. This a really tasty budget stick, in my opinion.

Re: Torano 1916 Review

I bought the lighter 10 or 12 years ago. It's been a great lighter, very reliable. The only downside is that it isn't as good in the wind as I would have hoped it would be.
