Zakly! I nubbed that fat little sucker! Even took a picture of it happening for my Herf Trading Card (Rookie of the Year, CS/Carolina League 2005-06).

Especially Fuentes.
I need a large storage space dedicated to just that....
The whole idea is ridiculous. What if you went to a restaurant and ordered a steak dinner; you pay in advance and then the waiter sez, "OK. We're gonna start bringing out your dinner to the table now. It'll be here in two years."

At my request, to be perfectly fair, the Cigar Criminal Lamar suggests I seek out and buy a particularly tasty, hard to find cigar. So I find it and I'm all excited; I write him a pm to ask about best smoking procedures and etiquette, what food, what drink compliments it best, etc. I mean, I'm READY to smoke this little gem. Then he tells me that I need to put it somewhere for TWO YEARS before i smoke it! I felt like a dope. Who knew?

It all seemed totally preposterous until I saw what a little bloom would do the a Fuente Chateau... oh well. Like I said to Lamar, "Thanks. I guess."

Mr. McD - Wine drinkers buy cases and store them away for years until they reach their peak - cigars are similar IMHO.

Here's my version of the restaurant analogy. I go with friends to my favorite restaurant, order a nice steak, and a bottle of that modestly priced but delicious Pinot Noir which I have on each visit. The server leans over and says - "We are down to our last 10 bottles of this wine. From past experience we know that this particular wine is age-worthy, and will get even better over the next couple of years. Since you like it so well, we will be happy to sell you our remaining bottles and store them for you, so that you can enjoy it into the future. We will even give you 10% off the price." Realising that the 10% discount brings the cost of the wine down to what it was retailing for in the liquor store, I gratefully accept the kind offer, and go home whistling a happy tune.

I take your point (of course) - but by golly, I know that restaurant and I don't go there, the crafty bastiches with their dusty old bottles and tricky finance schemes. I want good wine when I want good wine; and I want instant great cigars. This patience and planning stuff is for the birds. I'm experimenting with a cigar aging acceleration process right now - they go in a brown paper bag, with the bananas, on top of the refrigerator for a few days. The first few ISOMs came out pretty moldy and tasted like banana so there's still a few bugs to work out. Plenty of bugs, actually. Fruitflies and bacc'er beetles both. But I'm on the case. (They has to be a way to speed up aging cigars. There just has to.)

Mr, MaDu - I hear you - I don't go to that restaurant either, but prefer the local Indian...

Your experiments sound cutting edge. I'm going to try putting my next box of stogies in the microwave, set it on Frozen Dinner.

Yeah! We're cutting edge. I like that. Not meaning to hijack this fine review thread so I'll carry the notion elsewhere. My bottom line was, the difference between a blooming and non-blooming AFCF was some real drama.
