Hoyo de Monterrey Candela Review

I got this cigar in a trade with d_day, so if I get some of the details wrong then I'm sorry.

Cigar : Hoyo de Monterrey Classic Candela
Size: Governor 6 1/8 x 50
Wrapper: Candela
Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf
Wrapper: Honduran, Nicaraguan, Dominican

Ok this is the first Candela (Green) cigar I have ever smoked, so I wasn't sure at all what to expect. This is a pale green cigar, but construction looked great and it was nice and firm. Cut and light up without a problem. Started out very smooth and clean tasting. Had a nice draw and plenty of smoke. The first half of this cigar was very smooth and just had a very nice clean tobacco taste. I would say medium in flavor and body. About the half way point I started to get just a little spice in my mouth. And then about into the last third of the cigar started to get a green earthy taste, not excatly grass. It took me little over an hour to smoke this cigar as I nubbed it.

This being my first Candela I must say I really enjoyed the hell out of this cigar. It burned perfect! And was just a well made cigar. The smooth clean taste was very enjoyable! When I smoked this cigar last night I didn't sit down to rate it, I didn't take notes etc... Me and the wife just went outside to smoke a cigar. If I would have been rating this cigar I have no doubt it would have been a high one.

I've found that there is a flavor component in candela that is not present in any other cigar. I can't really describe it, but it just doesn't seem to exist elswhere.

I've never seen a cigar with any candela parts aside from the wrapper.

Yeah just the wrapper is green, nothing else. It was different from other smokes, I just thought it tasted very clean, I don't know any other way to put it.

Nice review Tuff, and glad you enjoyed the smoke. I scored a box of these last year, and they quickly became my favorite. It's too bad they stopped making these a few years ago. I can't seem to find any more.

IPrivate Stock BY Tinder box Candella 45x6 1/2 aprox is one of my favorate 2$ smokes
,and the other natural is really good too.
If ya got one around,or ya do mail order.
I would reccomend candella as neccary tasteing it is smooth earthy and a hint of grassy sweetness.
