Beautiful, dark wrapper with nice, firm feel. Excellent construction. First couple of draws brought on intense peppery flavors that DPG is known for. These flavors smoothed out after the first quarter to reveal a softer profile that included cocoa and espresso with a long lingering finish of earth and wood. The woody notes were the ones that dominated overall.
I had some burn problems that required several touch-ups, but I enjoyed this smoke very much.
This was a recent purchase, and the cigar tasted a bit young. Although I've heard DPG's don't require any aging, I am confident that these will improve with a couple of months on them.
In conclusion; the Serie JJ Maduro is yet another indication of DPG's consistency. The smoke, while it could use a little more complexity, was still nonetheless elegant and balanced. I look forward to smoking the remainder of these after seeing how a little age improves them.

Good smoke, always delivers, great flavor, low priced...one of the few maduros I smoke regularly.

Hittin' one right now. I am enjoying it but as I am getting to the last third, it is tasting a bit metallic. I just got these yesterday. I will let the other 4 rest for a while. I love pretty much anything Pepin puts out. This one seems a bit young.
