Carlos Torano Virtuoso Review

Name: Forte
Length: 5.5
Ring: 56
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Colorado Maduro Shade
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan & Panamanian
Binder: Honduran
M.S.R.P. $6.50

For starters I must thank the generous Ms. Floydp that gifted me this cigar as part of the blind taste test currently going on. I had never tried this cigar so I was very pleased with the extras she through in.

Look, Feel & Smell: Beautiful dark & slightly oily wrapper. The cigar has a nice solid feel with no inconsistencies throughout. A nice strong sweet chocolate smell.

Pre-Light: I used my "V" cutter(because I find this always gives me a perfect draw, nothing to loose). After the cut I took a few inhales to see what I could taste before lighting and to my suprise really only got air no distinguishable flavors.

First 3rd: After lighting the cigar which lit easy and perfect I set out to enjoy. The flavors I was immediatly hit with was a strong but very pleasant sweet cocoa flavor that lasted until I tapped of the perfect ash at about the 1/3 mark.

2nd Third: After the original third the sweetness went away and changed to a rich chocolate and nutty flavor. The change was very subtle and incredibly enjoyable. Again tapped off the ash that was a nice dark grey as the cigar was burning perfectly.

Final 3rd: During the final 3rd of this cigar the flavors changed to a rich leathery flavor with just a faint peppery flavor on the tounge. The cigar was really getting strong and incredible enjoyable from beginning to end.

Conclusion: I usually have a difficult time reviewing cigars in detail because of an innability to detect actual flavors, but the flavors in this cigar were so distinc and powerful I really felt I was in touch with what the maker was trying to accomplish. The only other thing I will add is that I have been smoking cigars for about 17 years and this is the 1st one that actually gave me a little buzz, but a certainly would not hesitate to smoke many more. Great Cigar, Great Price.

Re: Carlos Torano Virtuoso

One thing i'll say for sure about the Virtuoso is its got one hell of a kick. the taste to me wasnt all that extraordinarily differnt than most others with the same profile, but the construction was tops!
