Onyx Reserve mini Belicoso Review

At the request of GlockG23 I am doing an Onyx Reserve review. I have not smoked one in a few months so I grabbed on from the humi that has been in there for over a year. I had bought 2 boxes a few months apart so I dug clear to the bottom and got one of the oldest so I know its at least a year old. They are a coal black very firm cigar. Box pressed. Not the smoothest, most perfectly rolled cigar but they dont charge an arm and a leg for them either! Prelight draw is a little tighter than most but still doable without ramming a stick through it! First few puffs gives you a whif of cocoa-ish taste. Wow! ageing has really helped this cigar. It was very mellow, smooth and creamy....almost sweet all the way to the last 2" then it gets a little heavier. These burn very even with a dark gray ash. The smoke is very pleasant....i smoked it while i was in the bikeshop and went back to the house for another Kaliber (Guiness NA) and when I came back the sweet smell was still in the air. Actually the cloud was hanging about 4 feet from the ceiling cause I had all the doors closed and no heat on! They list this as a full cigar but its a tick under that in my book....at least after its aged it is. Id like to smoke a fresher one to see how much stronger it is. Im begining to be a bigger maduro fan the more of em I smoke. The 5 Vegas Series A turned me back onto them after a few months off, then the Nestor Reserve Maduro really sealed the deal. I really wasnt planning on smoking one of these until GlockG23 wanted a review so Im glad he asked. Great maduro. im not sure of what I paid....between $40 and $50 a box I think. Prices have went up tho...around $60 I think was the last price I saw. I still have 20 or so....so im good.

Have not smoked one of these in a couple of years so glad to see a recent review on one I was thinking of picking up again. Appreciate it.

Re: Onyx Reserve mini Belicoso Review

Great review! I tried one of these awhile back because I was in a maduro phase. I thought it had an initial sweetness to it, but that went away after a few minutes. I also had a little too tight of a draw, but it was still enjoyable throughout the cigar. I think overall it was a good cigar. Not one I would want to smoke that often, but once every few months would work best for me, just to get a change of pace in to challenge the pallet.

Re: Onyx Reserve mini Belicoso Review

I have to say that these are a great smoke. I smoked my first one a few months back and it was great. No complaints at all. Would definitly be a good box to buy especially at the price
