Flor de Olivia

Brand: Olivia
Line: Flor de Olivia Natural
Size: Robusto 5x50

I am rating this cigar based on the fact that it has rested for almost 2 months in my humi.

This is my favorite budget smoke. If you didn't know it was a bundle cigar you really would not be able to tell IMO. Well maybe a little bit being as it does not compare to a RP or CAO Soprano and etc. Point is, it is good.

The inspection of the cigar was great. No flaws, no construction issues and a well placed cap. I use a punch and it punched it perfectly with out causing any damage.

Pre-light aroma is a slightly sweet tobacco scent and the pre-light taste is the same.

Once lit it has a wonderful aroma and tons of smoke. The taste is almost the same as the pre-light with a light sweet tobacco taste and with a smooth creamy flavor that stays consistant all the way down to the nub. This one does have a short finish, and is not complex at all.

The burn was amazingly straight on this one. Even my wife said how cool the burn looked. I have never had any issues with the burn on these anyways, after they rest in the humi for a while of course.

Overall for a "less than $2 dollar a stick" this is one hell of a smoke that should be sampled by not only new comers but the experienced as well. It is a great everyday smoke for me.

Re: Flor de Olivia

i think these are better than the sol cubano line also made by oliva. i bought a box of sol cubano maduros and haven't been impressed at all. i guess i'll send them to the bottom of the humi for a year of so.

Re: Flor de Olivia

I have some short torpedos and some churchills of the FDO natural. These are tasty smokes, and you cannot beat the value with a stick! I really like these smokes for about $1-$2 each. Thanks for the review!

For those that are interested in these but don't want to get a whole bundle, Cbid sells 5 packs of the individual sizes.

ive smoked several bundles of the Naturals in a few different sizes and have loved em all. Torpedos and Robustos I liked best.

Re: Flor de Olivia

Thanks for the review. I've had the maduros (not bad), how do the naturals compare?

i feel that the maduros are a little lackluster in comparison to the naturals.

I bought a bundle of lonsdales about 18 months ago and they've turned into a very enjoyable smoke.

Re: Flor de Olivia

I really like the Sol Cubano Series B. To me they taste alot like Naturals without the sweetend tip. I just bought a box of Sol Cubano Maduros but havent had a chance to try one.

Re: Flor de Olivia

The Flor de Oliva is as good as it gets at the low end of the price spectrum. It's a great value for the money.
