Fuente Anejo Maduro Review

Just came in from the patio, sat under a palm in the shade, where there was only a whisper of movement in the air.

My heart is beating, my hands are shaking. Wow. This was a cigar to reckon with.

Right from the first puff, this was one powerhouse of a cigar. I only had it in the humi for 3 weeks, but had to smoke it to satisfy my curiosity.
The flavor was rich, opulent, heavy, almost overpowering. I realised immediately that this stogie could not be smoked like an ordinary cigar, taking full drags. It could only be savored by taking very gentle puffs, and letting some air in along with the smoke. When I did this, the reward was instantaneous - luscious, full, warm exotic flavors caressing my mouth and nostrils. Unbelievably delicious and satisfying. But make one little mistake, take a big long casual drag, and she closes up, yielding harsh damp and overpowering backlash, right when I least expected it. this cigar got my attention and respect.

So I sat for an hour, smoking it in little "sips", reveling in those Arabian Nights aromas. The middle 1/3rd was smoother and fuller, rich and deep. At the lower 1/3rd I was light-headed, debating whether I could really continue. I smoked down to the last 1 1'2 inch, then gave up, let it go. Quite an experience.

For me this is a once-in- 6-months cigar, to smoke slowly under perfect conditions. My remaining 2 will chill in the humi for a good long time, but I am really looking forward to how they will be with some age. I'm in no big hurry. Time is on the side of these great stogies. In the meantime I will be happy to smoke Best Sellers, Don Diegos and all the other Fuentes which I love and don't have to be afraid of. All Best, Larry. :s

Re: Fuente Anejo Maduro

Very good cigar. These are like thick dowels when you hold them. But they smoke so well and usually burn evenly. These are great cigars. I have g=had them fresh from the B&M. But with two years on them they are A-1 !
