601 blue toro

well for my first official review on puff ive decided to review a go to stick of mine... the 601 blue toro...ive had this resting for awhile now so as usual im looking forward to it

Brand: 601 blue
size:6.25x54
price:$6.50
beverage: coke

this is a beautifully wrapped, chocolate colored maduro... it has a beautiful band, no visible veins, tight appearance with a nice box press and a triple cap... it looks and feels great in my hand...pre light i get a scent of earth and tobacco... lit very easily and evenly... first few puffs reveal a great mix of sweet chocolate with a strong undertone... not peppery maybe that earthy/woody smell i got prelight...it has a firm but free draw that shows off the outstanding dpg construction (i should mention for the record that i am a dpg whore) razor sharp burn continues through the first 3rd...the sweet taste still remains prominent with the earthy taste fading away... the sweetness is almost floral... im loving it...ash is light and held well up to the 2inch mark... at the beginning of the 2nd third the sweetness remains and the strength is kicking up... the spice and earthy undertone is returning and adding to the strength... the balance of flavors is fantastic... neither overpowers the other, they're complimenting one another very well... midway through the 2nd third the sweetness is subsiding and the earthy flavor is beginning to pick up met with a woody taste... just knocked the ash off by accident but it was holding nicely...this thing has been burning for an hour and 30 minutes and i still have 2inches left so if you're gonna smoke one, make sure youve got a good two hours.... onto to the final 3rd and i just took off the band... i just got a faint taste of the intial sweetness but it faded quickly...this baby has settled into a full bodied smoke with a mix of pepper, earth and wood...burn is still razor sharp...the earthy/wood flavor has taken over but its still very smooth with a good draw...this baby is getting nubbed for sure... just finished total smoke time was 2hrs 10min

overview: all i can say is wow...if uve never smoked one of these babies u owe it to urself to try one... if u cant find em ill send u one... every botl should have some of these imo... hope u guys enjoyed my 1st review

I agree, the EO 601 Blue is an excellent cigar, often overlooked by many.

Great smoke. I think I prefer the Green over the blue but just by a little bit.

Re: 601 blue toro

Had one last night and it was good. I have to agree with ghost though, the green is a flavor bomb.

Re: 601 blue toro

One of my absolute favorites & narrow favorite over the Green Oscuro - Green is a little stronger but the variety of flavors just makes me want more! more! more! Great review - nailed it right on the nose (or smoke!). Love the box-press - seems to add a balance to the flavors.

Re: 601 blue toro

I picked up a few 601 cigars about a month back and only smoked the red so far and it was great. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the line now.

Great review and pictures!

I am not a maduro fan, but I do like the 601 maduro.

Re: 601 blue toro

The only 601 that I've smoked so far is the Red, which I really liked. Looks like I need to find one of these Blues asap!!

Great review and great pics too.
