Review Casa Torano
I had this stick as sort of a breakfast smoke this past Saturday. was looking for something mild to medium and overall different from many of the cigars that I am drawn to these days.
Setting: Outdoors and in the garage. Was doing some light work. Great day with temps in the 80s and very low humidity. Appearance: Very nice light brown/tan wrapper. Construction was seemed good. Storage: Sitting in about 67% RH for about a 1 year. Cut: made with my Palio . Size: Churchill 1/3rd: Some strong burnt wood flavor starts this one off. This quickly begin to mellow and change. Hints of some grassiness start to come through. The more it progressed it started to give off a tea-like taste (Lipton unsweetened). This pretty much dominated the flavor. A few hints of grass and earthiness every so often. Draw started out losse but the more I smoke the more it seemed to become fine. Smoke was plentiful. Ash was about an inch. Burn was good if a bit uneven. 2/3rd: More of the earthy-tea quality. Right when I thought that this would be it for this stick BANG, I get hit with this buttery movie popcorn(YES POPCORN!!!) taste. I thought this was intresting and searched for more of this. Alas, it was not meant to be. Tea and mild earthy quality continued and every once and a while I would get a hint of faint creamy butter but not enough to satisfy me. The tea like quality started to dissipate and replaced by more of a mild tobacco flavor. Burn became uneven and required some touching up. Smoke was plentiful. Draw became good. Ash would fall off at about an inch. 3/3rd: Being that this was a churchill and I had to go inside to take care of things I did not get very far into this part. Needless to say, I started getting more of a burnt wood tobacco taste with some hints of grass. Soon after I just left it to put itself out and went inside and looking forward to my "lunch smoke" in a few hours. Overall impressions: Smoke: A very good amount. No problems with it. Ash: An inch at most. Burn: A bit uneven requiring a few touch-ups here and there. Final Thoughts: Intresting flavor profile. Definetly different. The tea flavored predominated and there was almost no mistaking it. I would say that this was a more of a mild-to-medium smoke. That popcorn burst was certainly intresting and really wished that it had more of a creamy buttery flavor to it instead of some hints in that 2nd third of the smoke. Was not bad but not something that I would seek out again for a while. I hope you guys found this review helpful. Stay strong and happy smokes! |

Re: Review Casa Torano
Thanks for the review. I really like this stick, a great Connie and I agree a bit unique. The NUB Connie is a bit similar.

This is one of my wife's favorite smokes, but not the churchill size. Thanks for the review.

Re: Review Casa Torano
Thanks for the review. This is a very mild cigar for me. I do like them though.
I could have sworn I tasted buttered popcorn while smoking a cigar last week but do not recall if it was the Casa Torano. |

Re: Review Casa Torano
Repped, good review, thx.
I was really looking forward to this cigar. Mine was "tight" and hard to get a good draw which kinda ruined the experience for me. Good cigar but personally I prefer the NUB CT over this stick. |
