Padilla Miami Robusto: Photo Review

Appearence + Pre-Light:
Light to medium brown wrapper that had a very well done triple cap. Nothing too spectacular about the look of the cigar as a whole. The cigar itself had a sweet almost chocolate like scent to it. The pre-light draw was perfect with a good amount of cocoa taste to it.

Location:
My regular smoking location on the porch on a nice comfortable Sunday. There was hardly any humidity outside which was very nice

1st Third:

Started off with some peppery spice right off the bat with a small amount of sweetness as well. The spice wasn't overpowering by any means, a nice medium flavor. There was also some type of floral flavor at the begining that I just couldn't zero in on what exactly it was. It went away as I started getting down this section of the stick.

2nd Third:

The peppery spice continues to the same medium degree it was when I first lit up the smoke. The sweetness has increased a little bit as well as there are now a hint of cocoa flavor. The sweet peppery flavor is very enjoyable.

Final Third:

The spice continues its consistency and now the cocoa flavor is a little more prevalent. Also, as I was getting closer to the nub, it was joined by a little bit of a licorice flavor as well as some leathery notes. This was a great tasting part of the cigar! By far the best of the entire smoke. As you can see in the picture, I smoked it down until my fingers couldn't take the burn anymore!

Conclusion:
A very good smoke imo. The spice was consistent in flavor and body from beginning to end. It never got so bold as to mask some of the other flavors in the cigar (which can sometimes happen with some of the maduros I like to smoke). It let the sweetness/cocoa stand out and also let some of the other more subtle flavors (floral flavor and licorice) be noticed as well when they came about. I was actually pretty sad to see the stick come to an end as I thought it was just starting to show some great combinations of taste at the end. I think I will actually look to get a larger vitola of this band to see if perhaps the flavors I got at the end of this robusto last longer or perhaps even change again. All in all, a good cigar that had a razor sharp burn and a perfect draw. I'd recommend this to anyone to try and as I said, I will be looking to try a larger size as well to see how it compares .

Score:
Appearence - 8.0
Burn/Draw - 10.0
Flavor - 9.0

Final Score - 8.8

I'd also like to thank Glock for gifting me this cigar as part of the BOTL contest that he ran! I can see why you are a fan of these smokes

Nice review. This is my Fathers favorite cigar. Bill gave me one as well, still sitting in the humi for when I'm feeling better.

Re: Padilla Miami Robusto: Photo Review

nice review. I still haven't smoked a Padilla yet. Got the aniversary special from CI last week so I look forward to sampling them soon. Seems I need to add Miami to the list.
Thanks.

Great review! I've only smoked the Lancero size, and I'm not sure how that compares.
