Black Band Project Reviews

I figure we could all put our reviews of our free cigars in this thread. We can title it, "A" then give a brief description, "B" then give a description and so on. I would like to see what everyone thinks about the cigars. I didn't get mine yet but when I do I will post my reviews here.

Re: Black Band Project Reviews

Great idea!

I think it makes sense for people not to post the true identities of the cigars in this thread, at least initially, so that we can read reviews and not find out until after we smoke it. Seems like camacho might not be revealing it right away anyway though (which makes sense given the nature of the BBP).

Re: Black Band Project Reviews

Well here's my review of Black band A - It was a decent looking cigar, had a nice draw. Prelight draw didn't reveal any real flavor that I could detect.. After lighting I detected a light, bitter flavor. The burn got a bit lopsided but by the half way point it evened out. It was still kinda bitter and I wasn't able to detect any flavor. The bitterness got a bit stronger on the last third and I wasn't able to nub as I do most cigars. Overall I wasn't impressed with it. However, not to take anything away from Camacho, I just recieved it yesterday and it's only set in the humi for 24 hours...I'm gonna let B and C sit for a while longer and see if that helps any...Overall for free cigars they can't be beat....Oh and when you receive yours there is a web address that tells you exactly what each cigar is made of, but I wont reveal them here...

Wow: Harsh review on A, eh? Got me wond'rin...

What conditions would suppress the natural wonder of a new brand (seriously: you think that they would put out crap after such a huge marketing campaign)? What are the odds that you got a baddie? What should a newbie (such as myself) do to maximize flavor pre-review?

Mine are resting in the humi.

Re: Black Band Project Reviews

It was probably my impatience that screwed that one. I should have let it rest in the humi for a week or two bfore I smoked it...I'm holding out hope that B and c will be much better..I say be patient and let em sit for a bit...

Re: Black Band Project Reviews

Just got my 3 pack today and decided to smoke the "A". Construction was great, initial light gave a mild smooth smoke. The burn was even I didn't notice any bitterness like KickU2Sleep did just a mild mellow flavor. The wrapper was a natural Connecticut. Used my punch on this one it is a Robusto size. All in all it was a decent mild smoke.

Yeah me too. With 36000 or whatever the man said that they are sending out, I'd bet there's a big lag between the first and last ones sent out.

Re: Black Band Project Reviews

Well I am smoking mine right off within 3 days that I get them. I believe a cigar should be good when I buy them or get them. Hopefully they all are good.

Re: Black Band Project Reviews

I smoke my "b" cigar last night. It was a very good cigar, stronger than the "A". It was the same Robusto size, flavor was fuller it has a Nicaraguan wrapper IMO not sure but that is my opinion compared to other Nicaraguan's that I have smoked. Had a nice leathery taste. Burn was a little off had to touch it up about 4 times. I really enjoyed this one would like to have another of them.
