I just purchased one of these and looking forward on trying it. These reviews are going to make it hard to let it sit. I do have a 04 Forbidden X but that is going to wait for a special occasion.

Andrew, while most people prefer the Opus with at least a couple of years on it I am just the opposite and enjoy them more fresh.

About ready to take the band off... the citrus flavor is gone and is more of a spicy/sweet powerbomb at this point but the sweet is like a chewy molasses... really diggin it

**edit** Im getting something lurking faintly in the background when i chew after i exhale.. cant really put my finger on it.. its kind of earthy leathery.

Good review. I smoked an Opus Perfection last night and it was probably the best X I have ever had. Really chewy mouthfeel with a lot of spice. I noticed somewhat of a slight "minty" taste in the last third. Stuck me as odd. Also noted that this was a solidly packed cigar but drew great.

Its funny you mention that.. After I cut the cap on this I saw how packed it was and before I took the prelight draw I thought... ahhh damnit this thing is going to be plugged. Just because how dense it looked. Sometimes you can tell just when something is going to have a horrible draw on it by looking at it... this thing has the most perfect draw to it.. but yeah you just reminded me of that.

Yeah it drew great.

Glad to see you enjoying some Fuentes dude. They have been some of the most consistent smokes I have had in 15+ years of smoking.

maybe try an Anejo next?

I have 3 Anejos with about a year age on them...

Sorry the updates stopped... I got too into the Opus and was like screw it.. jumped into my car... this was the result...

I agree,, no more then 6 months of resting

but I do have Opus X's older than that,, I like them younger...
The year + Opus X's IMO mellow out a bit

Thanks guys. I became a mod right before the changeover but life got in the way for a while so I had to step down.
