Old Powder Keg Robusto

Cigar: Old Powder Keg Robusto
Cutter: Xikar
Lighter: Ronson Jet-Lite
Beverage: Coke Zero

Pre-cut: Dark wrapper that had several small veins in it. Stick feels dense and is heavy in the hand. Pre-light draw is straight forward tobacco.

1/3: Lit easily and draws well despite being very densly packed. Good tobacco flavors with a hint of spice and leather in the background. Some nice peppery spice on the nose exhale.

2/3: This is turning out to be an excellent cigar. Great tobacco taste with just a bit of peppery spice on the finish. Get a little earthy, leathery taste in the background. It does not have a "strong" taste to it but I can definitly feel the nicotine kick.

Final Third: Nice bit of spice beginning to kick in. Still very smooth tobacco taste. The cigar has burned cool and fairly straight the whole time. This cigar produces large volumes of smoke with every puff.

Overall this was a pretty nice cigar. I was very pleased with the draw since it was so densly packed. If you like solid medium strength, full bodied cigars then you owe it to yourself to try this one out.

Re: Old Powder Keg Robusto

I've actually never heard of this cigar. It seems very interesting. It looks like it would be a great value smoke, but it could also be a great medium priced smoke. Probably something I'd like, just don't know where to find it! Nice review!

Definitely sounds like a DPG CC on a budget. This is something I would smoke.

I've been to that shop before and have a couple of those sticks that I've kept in my humi for nearly a year now. May be time to fire one up
