'06 Fuente Anejo Shark

Cigar: Fuente Anejo Shark
Year: 2006
Cutter: Xikar
Lighter: Ronson Jet-Lite
Beverage: Coke Zero

Pre-cut: Beautiful dark wrapper makes the box pressed torpedo even more attractive. Pre - light draw has a hint of something that could best be described as raisin. Leaves a slightly sweet after taste on the lips.

1st third: Wood and a faint sweetness are the predominate flavors and there is the slightest hint of spice on the tongue. The cigar started out burning uneven but quickly straightened itself out without any touch-up.

2nd third: Still getting the wood taste but now a hint of cofee and maybe a bit of chocolate are starting to appear. The burn continues to waver for a minute and then correct itself. This cigar so far is full - bodied but med - full strength.

Final third: Cigar has picked up just a bit on the spice but it is not overpowering. Still getting hints of wood and the coffee taste has picked up a bit. Cigar is showing signs of sweetness again and this really shows through on the nose exhale.

Overall this cigar is a nice 2+ hour smoke. The shape is comfortable in the hand and mouth. It gives off clouds of smoke and the ash holds pretty well. Although I prefer smaller cigars the Shark is an excellent change of pace and as long as I am able I will keep a few in my humidor.

Re: '06 Fuente Anejo Shark

Great review! I smoked an 07 Friday night. The smell of the wrapper was chocolate covered cherries. Pretty much the whole smoke was creamy on the lips, I know that sounds strange but the only way I can put it. These are great smokes with some age, going to let the ones i have left sit longer!

Best to keep the chocolate covered cherries in the fridge & not the humidor, Frank!

Re: '06 Fuente Anejo Shark

WOW! You absolutely NAILED it! This is my favorite NC and your descriptions couldnt be more right on the money. I tend to get a little more chocolate than you mention, but then I tend to look for it more.

Simply great work
