La Aurora Cien Anos Robusto

Cigar: La Aurora Cien Anos
Year: 2007
Cutter: Xikar
Lighter: Ronson Jet-Lite
Beverage: Chivas Regal 12 y.o.

Pre-cut: Nice medium brown wrapper. One medium sized vein. Georgeus band. Pre - light draw has a hint of white pepper along with some cedar.

1st third: This cigar starts out with hints of pepper and leather. There are some hints of a cinnamon like spice that is very pleasing to the palate. The nose exhale delivers a touch of spice along with a rich tobacco taste.

2nd third: Still getting some pepper along with spice and leather. Seems to be a little bit of a floral note coming through also. The cigar is rotating through the flavors and I must say that it is very good at this point.

Final third: Flavor has had a constant pepper taste throughout but never overwhelming. The other flavors that have been throughout the cigar are still there and seem to take turns coming towards the front. The nose exhale gives a touch of leather and spice.

Overall this cigar is a good example of Dominican tobacco at it's finest. The flavors evolve throughout the cigar and the smoke is very creamy, thick and chewy. If you are a fan of Dominican tobacco then this is the cigar for you.

Re: La Aurora Cien Anos Robusto

thanks for the great review. I really enjoy this puro.
The last one I had was not a floral as the first few. Something I truely missed. Hope the rest bring back that lovely scent.

Glad to see this review here as I have put off getting these cigars. Looks like a run to C Bid to get 5 pak of these. Thx for solid review of these.

Re: La Aurora Cien Anos Robusto

Thanks for reviewing this one, I was hoping it would have won the poll a day or so ago. I've smoked one of these and liked it a lot, I have a couple of the belicoso I have been trying to save, going to have to break down and smoke one now. Great review and pics as always, I see you went with Chivas instead of Coke Zero, very nice, I bet those went well together.

I knew from past experience that this cigar would hold up well to the Scotch and that is why I chose it.

IMO most non-Cuban cigars do not pair well with a Scotch but there are a few that do.

For those of you who haven't tried one yet - better get one - they are discontinued.
