La Herencia Cubana Toro

I just got these on Monday and stuck the box in the cooler and a few singles in the chest humi. I couldnt wait any longer! Two days was way too long to wait to try these. They are a very well made AJ Fernandez cigar. Not very expensive either. Got em on the Devil for around $30 a box. The draw was perfect...not to loose and not to tight. The sumatra wrapper has a nice red tint to it and is almost "fuzzy". It burned excellent. Straight as could be all the way down. It held onto a 2.5" ash with no problem. I fumbling with my phone and knocked it off otherwise i was gonna keep it going. As you can imagine a fresh cigar thats only been in the humi 2 days would probably have that "green" taste but this wasnt bad at all. I caught just a hint of tangyness at first. I think in a month or 2 these will end up being a great great cigar. It wasnt too strong...maybe a medium or just a tad stronger. Little bit of spice with some leather. Im sure the flavor will change alot with some age. Im just not very patient and had to burn one. Oh and a huge plus.......the packaging!! excellent humidor quality box. The seal on that box is so tight! Too bad it wont hold 100 sticks!! Beautiful red gloss stained finish....very thick wood of some sort lined with a quarter inch of spanish cedar. Very impressed so far with this one. Ill review it again in a few weeks.

Re: La Herencia Cubana Toro

I got a 5 pack of the torpedos off cbid a while back for $7. Initially I wasn't too fond of these, but they have settled down with some rest time in the humidor. Nowadays, I find these to be a nice kick-around cigar. To me they have sort of a sweet 1 dimensional flavor, but that's good when you're preoccupied with something else like a nice hike or cutting the grass. I think my initial dislike of these came from not enjoying the man-o-wars I got about the same time (both Fernandez cigars I believe). Overall, not a bad cigar!

Re: La Herencia Cubana Toro

I think about these guys everytime I get a new CI catalog, but since one can never believe the catalog descriptions (seems like every cigar is "smooth as butter") I've held off.

Thanks for the review ... guess they worth a bid on the devil site.
