Camacho Triple Maduro Toro

Cigar: Camacho Triple Maduro Toro
Year: 200?
Cutter: Xikar
Lighter: Ronson Jet-Lite
Beverage: Coke Zero

The cigar was gifted to me by havanajohn after he found out that I had never tried one.

Pre-cut: This cigar has a very dark wrapper with no large veins or blemishes. Pre-light draw has a bit of a sweet taste almost like chewing tobacco.

1st third: The cigar lit easily and with the first puff I am greeted with a nice sweetness and spice. The nicotine content seems high and the nose exhale is very smooth. The burn is even and the ash is tight. The cigar gives off plumes of smoke with every draw.

2nd third: The nicotine has settled down quite a bit, almost to what I would call a solid medium strength. Getting a little spice and also tastes of coffee and nuts. The nose exhale is still very smooth with a hint of something like bittersweet chocolate and the ash is solid.

Final third: The strength has picked back up just a little. I would say it is towards the med/full side now. It started tasting a little tarry to me but a quick purge fixed that. Flavors are of coffee, nuts and wood with a touch of sweetness that is very pleasant. The nose exhale is still smooth.

Overall this cigar is a very nice smoke. I really don't think it is full strength but it is definitly full bodied. The smoke is heavy and creamy. It is very smooth on the nose exhale which surprised me somewhat. I thought with all the maduro tobacco that it may have burn issues but I never experienced any.

Thanks again John for allowing me the opportunity to try this cigar. It was a very good smoke and I can see myself keeping a few of them around.

Re: Camacho Triple Maduro Toro

I thought this cigar was an alright smoke. I've been favoring the full bodied heavier smokes. To me, it didn't satisfy me when I smoked it. I just don't think thats what I was looking for in a smoke at that time, so that might be why I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have. I will definately give it another go. I got one more in my humi I'll light up one day.

Excellent review, and thats one B.A. lighter you got there!

Donnie, I think you really got it right with this one. Not really a powerhouse, but good, full body with tons of smoke. I like to smoke these very, very slowly, which seems to deliver more and deeper flavor.

What I cannot figure out is, why are they SOOOO expensive?

Re: Camacho Triple Maduro Toro

Just had one tonight that I had in the humi for about 8 months,,,5 pak off of C Bid. Some say this cigar is really potent,,,I didn't really get that feeling from this cigar. It's not that I didn't like it but it just never really kicked in to high gear for me. I hope the next 4 will change my mind about them.

Re: Camacho Triple Maduro Toro

When these first hit the market they where full strength cigars, maybe they toned them down are they have been letting them age longer before they ship them out. Has been a while since I smoked one, I thought they where good but Maduro is not my favorite.
