Taboo Twist Corona

Cigar: Taboo Twist Corona
Year: 200?
Cutter: Xikar
Lighter: Ronson Jet-Lite
Beverage: Coke Zero

This is my first Taboo cigar. I have had some in a cooler but have never gotten around to smoking them.

Pre-cut: Very smooth wrapper with no visible veins or blemishes The band is UGLY but I am not planning on smoking it so who cares. Cigar feels firm and densely packed. Pre-light draw tastes of tobacco with a sweet spice like allspice.

1st third: The cigar starts with a slightly sweet tobacco taste. The smoke is creamy and coats the tongue and mouth. It is mild in strength but medium in body. The nose exhale gives a faint bit of spice and is smooth. The draw offers just the right amount of resistance.

2nd third: The second third continues with the sweet tobacco taste. The burn is still perfect and the cigar is still delivering loads of creamy smoke. The nose exhale is smooth and although it is short, the finish has notes of coffee with cream.

Final third: Cigar has picked up a little strength now and is more medium than mild. It is still medium bodied and the flavors are pretty much the same sweet tobacco taste. Still burning straight and the smoke is still thick and voluminous.

Overall this cigar is a good mild/med strength cigar with a solid medium body. Not a lot of changes so I would deem it one dimensional but the taste is good. This is one of those good fishing or golfing cigars as it does not require much attention to enjoy it. I could see this becoming a go-to yard or work gar for me.

Nice review.

I have been really impressed with Taboo for the price point.

Glad it was enjoyable!

Re: Taboo Twist Corona

Try the Limited Reserve Havana. Its more full-bodied if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the review mate.

Awesome review! Thanks for the insight.

Quick question where does one get ahold of these? A quick search revealed nothing for me.

Re: Taboo Twist Corona

Coincidentally, I was just looking on the Taboo site to see what samplers they have in stock. I have yet to try a Taboo cigar and hope to in the near future.

Thanks for the review!

Re: Taboo Twist Corona

I am another fan of Taboo, I keep trying different ones and have been impressed with many. Two of them are a little stronger than i like, the LR Havana as mentioned above and the Special Forces.

I am a big fan of the Twist and looking forward to picking up some more when they are in stock.

Madurolover

What would you if possible, compare this to, as far as flavor and taste.

I would say it was close to a Torano Casa Torano in flavor. They both seem to gain just a touch of strength towards the end and they are both what I would call a "creamy" tasting cigar.

I always enjoy your reviews, Donnie. But, what's with the inimitable, "Coke Zero"?
