Hendrik Kelner 3X3 Tubos Review

I stopped by the local B&M on Thursday looking for a Corona sized smoke for the weekend. The employee who helped me recomended the Hendrik Kelner 3X3 Tubos. They also come in Robusto and Churchill sizes.

After a terrible experence trying to smoke a Cremosa Cubana Churchill, I ran the get the 3X3. Pre-light fragrance was nice, draw had hints of spice. Lit up nicely and burned even and slow. This was my first Corona sized smoke and I really liked it. Smoked until my fingers burned.

I would recomend the 3X3 if your looking for a mild smoke that won't take an hour to burn. They are made by the Davidoff apprentice rollers. Not bad at $3.00 a stick, could be a good go to smoke.

Re: Hendrik Kelner 3X3 Tubos Review

I just smoked four of the 6x48 size Davidoff 3x3 Tubos. My first impression, after smoking one as soon as the mailman delivered it, was that they are well made, and needing a few days against the cedar in my humidor. I recommend taking them right out of the tube and letting them acclimate. Each of the cigars in my batch were lighter or darker than the others -this doesn't bother me at all. After 3 or 4 days in my humidor they became milder and had a consistent flavor. I started picking up on a chocolate-like richness as I smoked them, and they sort of reminded me of an AVO #9, which I really like.
The high quality of the tobacco becomes apparent as you get into these. 3x3's are way better than any bundle-type cigar I've ever smoked. They are rich, medium-strength cigars that have a solid flavor and aroma. I like these cigars.

Are these the ones?

3 x 3 by Davidoff

I came across them earlier today, and thought they might be worth a try. Do you know how they compare to Private Stock, also by Davidoff?

What's the difference between this and 4x4?

Yes, that's them. The best deal with shipping, I believe, is pipeandcigars.com -where I got mine. I will buy some Private Stock next time so I can compare. Also, I want to try Special Blends (SB) because the same guy makes them, too, and I'm liking what this blender is bringing to the 3x3, which I assume is the same as the 4x4.

Very nice. After my positive experiences with the Rocky Signature series for a mild smoke, I'll def. give these a try soon.

Re: Hendrik Kelner 3X3 Tubos Review

I just smoked a Lonsdale from my just arrived 4x4 bundle. It was well made, mild, and had a nice aroma. It was sorta like the 3x3 tubos Churchill, but much milder. I personally will buy the 3x3 over the 4x4's because the 3x3 Churchill was much more complex and chocolatey, and sat firmly in the medium strength range. Get the 3x3 Churchill.

I know that the B&M I used to work at we could not keep these mild cigars on the shelf....they sold that well.

The 3x3 and 4 x4 bundles are one of the great values in cigars today. Handmade in the Davidoff factory in the Dominican Republic with a long filler blend of San Vincente, Olor, and Piloto tobaccos, with an Olor binder and Connecticut wrapper. Made under the supervision of Hendrik Kelner himself.

There are only two differences between the 3x3 and the 4x4....

3x3's are in tubes (4 sizes available) and the 4x4's (5 sizes) are not, 3x3's are a bundle of 9 tubes and the 4x4's are a bundle of 16 cigars, that's it.
