Re: Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve

The first two I had the wrapper was very dark. It smoked really sweet and by sweet I mean it was like a chocolate bar. I liked it. Next one I got from another B&M I had to keep asking if they were sure that it was the maduro. They were dark but not as much as the first two. I ended up passing on those as I was suspicious about them.

I love this cigar in both wrappers and have not had any problems so far.

Re: Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve

These were originally offered only for sale in B&Ms and at that time they were high dollar. Now you can get them for $5 - $6 a stick on sales. Purchased a box of 50 Corjo Robusto back in May from CI for $200. Have not had any issues with these and would have to say they are above average, but would not pay more then $6 for one.

Used to really enjoy the maduro, but since my tastes have gone more toward a full body smoke they seem kind of mild to me now.

Re: Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve

As I've mentioned before I like the maduro. I got some off the devil's site and it worked out to $3 per stick, 2 5 packs. Letting them rest a few weeks before lighting one up but I'm looking forward to it.
I haven't had the corojo yet.....since others seem to like it so much I'll have to try one.....just as soon a my wallet recovers from the shopping spree from last week

Weird, two of my favorite RP's!
I think I'd put the Edge Corojo somewhere up there too.

Re: Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve

IMO, the only RP that holds up to any age at all is the Edge maduro and sumatra. Otherwise, "Smokem' if ya gottem, cuz they aint gettin' any better." I really enjoy OWRM, but the corojo leaves me flat. Never had my fingers stained, but I do think theyre dyed.
