El Rey de los Habanos (AGED) Review
![]() Troy (aka Boomerd35) sent me an aged (2 years) El Rey de los Habanos as an extra in a trade we had. He knows I like this cigar a lot and he asked me to to a review to compare it to one fresh out of the box. Wrapper: Corojo Rosado Claro Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Shape: Toro Size: 6 X 50 Draw: Perfect Burn: Perfect Construction: Great This cigar does age well if the ones fresh out of the box are way to peppery for you. After 2 years of aging, this cigar has mellowed out a great deal. Still nice hints of pepper (Not over the top), and a lot of woody notes with a nice cream back-draft aroma. However, this cigar is not nearly as intense as the ones right off the shelf at your B&M. Although it was good, and I appreciate the opportunity to compare an aged one vs a non-aged one, I can see now why Master Pepin does not agree with aging cigars. ![]() ![]() ![]()
