Padilla Series 68 Lancero 7.5x38

Skip the Edicion Especial line by Padilla, and go straight to these Series 68 cigars. These taste, look and feel like they were trying to emulate the Cuban model, and this was a decent approximation. Nice firm draw, rustic construction and burn, with some occasional, typical Padilla canoe action. Nice cubanesque woody aroma and flavor. Medium body, plenty of smoke, and only a slight nic kick near the very end. Padilla has redeemed himself in my eyes, I was about to write him off after those crappy EE cigars. Anyway, this Lancero is a good buy at $3 or less.

Yea! Happy to see that you found a Padilla you like! I'm smoking a 32 Toro right now and loving it!

I enjoy the 68 in Toro size. My favorite Padilla would probably be the 1932.

I recently bought a ten-pack of these and I smoked the first one last night. This is a very nice smoke at a reasonable price.

Mr. Fiddlegrin sent me a Padilla Lancero (not sure which one) but it was a wonderful smoke!

Yep, the Series 68 is super solid. Been enjoying those all Summer along with the Signature 32 in the robusto. Have a couple 68 Salomons aging...
I also find the Miami and Obsidian to be decent.

Re: Padilla Series 68 Lancero 7.5x38

I've had the Robusto & I really liked it. Never had the lancero, but I have one coming from Cbid. Come to think of it I haven't had a Padilla that I haven't enjoyed, although I've hear the Achilles isn't so great....must be their only weakness.

Re: Padilla Series 68 Lancero 7.5x38

I just smoked my last toro last night. got a five pack from the devils playground, i like padilla, but not so hot on the corjo wrappers. Smoked the first 3, and thought, these aint for me, gave on to my bro and had one left. Forgot about it for about 2 months and it evolved into a totally different smoke, great woody, slightly sweet cinnimon flavors, wishi i wouldn't have given that other on away!! LOL!!
