Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds 1992 Petit Corona
Bought a bundle in Jul-09 from cbid. Smoked one in Aug-09.
Cost per stick: $1.96 Firm draw, perhaps a bit too moist in my humi; I will dry box the next one before I smoke it. But it tastes green, like it needs 1 yr of aging. Box press, medium body. So far, it is just a forgettable yard-gar. Worth $1 max. I hope it improves with aging. Either that or there is a huge difference between the seconds and the firsts...given the way others rave on about the Vintage 1992 firsts. Lets hope not. They look sort of like this, but mine were box press petit coronas, and the wrapper is a lighter shade. ![]() |

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds 1992 Petit Corona
RP Vintage 2nds are AWESOME sticks and in my opinion taste and burn just like the "real" thing...AFTER some time sleeping in your humidor. The Vintage won't need as long as many of the other RP 2nds, though (the OWR, Decade, and Sungrown need close to a year), in my experience they are smokable after a month or two. Of course they'll get better with even more time--and everyone's tastes are different. Maybe check them after a month and see if YOU like them yet or not.
RP 2nds are a great bargin (I have 10 different kinds in my humi!!), but you have to "pay" for it with storage time. Some people find that too annoying, but my philosophy is that you can just get an $8 Tupperware bin and Walmart and you're good-to-go ![]() |

Thanks for the 411. I love the Vintage line and have always wondered about the 2nds. Looking forward to when you revisit these!

Always been cautious with 2nds. I got the RP Fusion 5pack once and they just weren't the same. Maybe I didn't give them enough time. I hope you let us know how the progress. I'll be watching.

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds 1992 Petit Corona
I love the RP 2nds both the 1990 & 1992's. I try to keep 2 bundles in the hummi and order as needed to stay ahead of usage.

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds 1992 Petit Corona
Ahhhhhhhhh that's better. Jedipastor was right, these just need some aging. I lit one up today with 2 months of nap time on it, and I really enjoyed it. Nice firm draw, flavorful smooth cool leather. Medium body, clean finish, no nic kick. Worth every bit of $2 now, and better than many stix I have had that cost more. I look forward to smoking the rest after they have even more aging on them!
