El Mejor Emerald Review

I recently purchased an El Mejor Sampler. Six of the twelve sticks were El Mejor Emeralds. I pulled them out of the box and placed them into my humi for a nice rest. After a couple of weeks, I pulled one out last night for as smoke as I walked my pup. We wen't down to the river and after several water retrieves I decided to give the pup a break and sit down with my smoke. I unwrapped the cellophane and exposing the raw stick. The torpedo was 6.5x 54. The ring size was a little big for me but it was not a distractor. I love the rustic look of it's pigtail cap and classic shaggyfoot. I am not one for the status quo... I like things a little twisted. But enough about my sex life. I removed the cedar wrapper and began salivating, for this was my first cedar wrapped cigar. The Hunduran Corojo wrapper was pleasant in apperance and had a slight oily feel. I clipped the end and took a predraw, I was met with little resistance. I lit the shaggyfoot very easily and took in my first draw. I was met with the sweet cedar tones that I expected. Very smooth flavor, no bite. The first 3rd remained that way. The flavors from the 1st third waned into the 2nd third and were gently replaced by some sweet peppery notes with some leathery aftertones. The final third increased in it's peppery notes and started biting a bit but I think that was due to my overenthusiastic "rapid draws". I slowed down and the bite disapated. Over all I enjoyed this stick very much. I really don't have much exposure to higher end smokes so use that at a reference as to how much you can depend on this review. But so far this one is one of my favs especially for a $2.50 stick.
If you haven't had one of these give 'em a try.

Stink- You will enjoy it. I am a light weight when it comes to cigars and the last third gave me a bit of a buzz.

I like this cigar as well and hope they stay at that price point. They also have an espresso one that I have not tried yet.

Nice review. I like these as well. The Expresso is pretty good too, but IMO the Emerald is better.

Re: El Mejor Emerald Review

Nice review. For some reason I always stayed away from these even though they are definetly in my price range. I always see them on cbid so they'll be easy to get. Thanks.

Zea,
I took a chance on the sampler that tinderbox had (6 emeralds and 6 espressos for $29-i think) I think you will enjoy the Emerald. Let me know what you thin kwhen you burn your first.

LOL.... and what is wrong with that? Seriously, we all like different things and we taste things differently. I think Scotch tastes like horse pee aged in a treated lumber barrel
