NUB Maduro Review

This 4x60 beauty was flawlessly constructed and the maduro wrapper had a very nice texture and smell. On the prelight draw there was a hint of pepper which worried me, and it turns out I was somewhat correct in my fears. Although I don't mind a slightly peppery smoke, overwhelming pepper is not good for flavour richness.

Fortunately, after the first few minutes of smoking, the pepper faded, and the flavour improved. The draw was perfect, and I would say this had a medium-rich flavour. By the halfway point it was very smooth and impossible to put down.

I smoked this nub for over an hour and I have to say I'm eager to smoke the other three that are waiting for me.

Re: NUB Maduro Review

I have tried every type of Nub Cigar and they dont do anything for me. I prefer a cigar with complexity and different flavors but glad you like this,,,that is all that matters if you like them.

Yes, if you're expecting an evolving, complex, full flavoured smoke, then these will disappoint. I'm still looking for something on par with Rocky Patel's The Edge Maduro.

Been searching for the same thing and so far, have not found anything that matches. The price is pretty good for these and won't break the bank,,,I have been smoking the "seconds" and they are as good as the first line.

For something on par with The Edge Maduro, try an LFD L-400 Oscuro. About the same price point, and a really great stick!

I have a nub sampler coming in the mail but unfortunately it does not contain any maduros. Thanks for the review.

Re: NUB Maduro Review

Just smoked one, here's my quick review:

Pre-light: perfect construction, perfect draw, smelled great, dark brown wrapper looked so good I wanted to just eat it.

First 3rd: Pepper, leather, very rich & creamy. Even burn.

Second 3rd: Still peppery & leathery, very earthy. There's something else too, maybe a Nutty-ness? Nope Dark Chocolate.

Last 3rd: Dark Chocolate still, some pepper. Finish was very spicy & woody.

Good cigar, worth buying. It was a real finger burner, never had a bad Nub.

Oh yeah great ash too.

The best Nub, IMO. By far.
